Exploring Life & Business with Ryon’e Winters of Studio 96 Barber Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryon’e Winters.

Hi Ryon’e, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I started cutting hair at the age of 13. My dad was a barber and taught me everything that I know.

I always played sports growing up and ended up playing Division 1 football in college. I never really took barbering seriously, it was always just a side hustler to keep money in my pocket.

My body started to wear down playing ball, so I decided to pursue barbering after graduating college. I started off cutting at G Class cuts under Greg and Harley, alongside some of my closest friends (Ailele and Mauri).

After maintaining a high level of clientele for 3 years, I decided to venture off and do my own thing. On March 1st, 2022, I decided to open a barber studio at Fredem Salon and Studios with my close friend from college PJ and since then the business has been booming for us.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t believe that any journey in life is smooth, especially when you’re experiencing new things in life that you aren’t prepared for.

The hardest part for me, in the beginning, was transitioning to the barbershop. I took my craft very seriously and applied the business tactics that I learned in college, which resulted in me gaining clientele super fast and retaining them.

For years now, I have been booked out week after week, I think that says a lot about my skill set and customer service.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Studio 96 Barber lounge is the name of my business and I specialize in changing people’s lives. Haha, on a serious note I specialize in cutting hair, men’s hair, women’s hair, and kids’ hair.

I really believe that I am known for my fades mainly, my precision and attention to detail sets me apart from other barbers in the world. I would like readers to know that when you book with me you receive more than just a haircut, I provide an experience, I create a vibe that is unmatched and my customer service skills are top-notch.

I become a therapist to clients, I create a space that helps you get away from life when it gets heavy, I create smiles, and I become a brother and close friend to many. It’s deeper than just receiving a haircut when you book with Ryon’e Winters.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a super goofy person. I like to laugh and have half fun in this life, we only have one and I like to take advantage of my time here.
