Grace, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I can remember, writing has been a big part of my life. As a kid, I filled journals and wrote little books (content that was probably more entertaining than profound haha!) My first real taste of publishing came at age 10, when I began reporting for my hometown newspaper in Carrollton, Missouri. I wrote a weekly column called “The View From Down Here,” sharing stories and perspectives from a child’s point of view.
After retiring my childhood column in 2015, I finished high school and headed off to Mizzou (MIZ!), where I discovered a passion for social media. Throughout college, I took on several internship opportunities in which I managed accounts for various brands and influencers, and quickly realized that helping others grow their online presence was what truly excited me.
After graduating college last summer (& enjoying some well-deserved poolside relaxation!) I started getting calls from people seeking my advice on building and growing their social media accounts and that’s when things clicked.
After a summer of sun, starting my first full-time job, and learning the ropes of client-based social media consulting, I launched Poolside Lifestyle Co. in January 2025. In just under six months, I’ve had the opportunity to work with small businesses and creators nationwide, helping them elevate their social media presence.
My motto is always “sit back and relax poolside,” while I handle the rest!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road! As a new college grad, there’s been a lot to learn, sometimes on my own, sometimes with the invaluable support of mentors.
Navigating the world of social media management and entrepreneurship has pushed me to constantly adapt, problem-solve, and think creatively about how to make Poolside Lifestyle Co. the best it can be for my clients. Every challenge, from figuring out business basics to keeping up with ever-changing social media trends, has taught me something new and made the journey that much more rewarding!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is spending time with my family and friends, my faith in Jesus, and no surprise, being poolside!
But beyond that, nothing brings me more joy than helping my clients reach their fullest potential. I genuinely love supporting others, especially when it comes to social media. I know it can feel intimidating for those who haven’t tapped into its possibilities yet, and I’m passionate about breaking down those barriers and showing just how fun and impactful it can be.
Many of my clients start out dreading social media and have never touched Instagram or TikTok before, so it’s incredibly rewarding to deliver results that help them see it not as something scary, but as a powerful way to connect and grow. That transformation is what keeps me inspired every day!
