Community Highlights: Meet Tiffany Harlan of MVMT Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Harlan.

Hi Tiffany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
MVMT Fitness started with a passion for creating a space where people—especially women—could feel strong, supported, and empowered through every stage of life. I launched Tiffany Harlan Fitness in 2015, focusing on personal training, women’s health, and prenatal and postnatal fitness. As a mom and trainer, I understood how hard it can be to make time for yourself, let alone stay consistent with workouts and nutrition.

Over the years, I had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life—moms, dads, professionals, beginners, and athletes. What they all had in common was the desire to feel better, build strength, and be part of something that kept them motivated.

That’s how MVMT Fitness was born. I wanted to build a fitness community that offers more than just workouts. Our small-group classes include women’s-only strength training, prenatal and postnatal programs, mat Pilates inspired classes, and co-ed strength sessions for those who want to train alongside their partner, friends, or just with a supportive, high-energy group. We also offer online coaching and custom nutrition guidance, so members can succeed both in and out of the gym.

MVMT Fitness is about more than a space to come work out—it’s about showing up for yourself, building lasting strength, and being part of a community that lifts you up. Whether you’re just starting or you’ve been at it for years, there’s a place for you here. We’re not just a gym—we’re a movement. And we’re just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like most small business journeys, the road has been anything but smooth. Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship has been one of the biggest challenges—there’s no off switch when you’re running a business and raising a family. There were seasons where I questioned if I could keep going or if I was doing enough—for my clients, my family, or myself.

Building MVMT Fitness meant taking risks, working long hours, and pushing through a lot of unknowns. I’ve faced burnout, self-doubt, and the pressure of trying to do it all. But every obstacle has taught me something valuable. It’s made me more grounded, more focused, and even more passionate about what I do.

What’s kept me going is the community. The people who show up day after day remind me why this work matters.

We’ve been impressed with MVMT Fitness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MVMT Fitness is a locally owned, small-group training gym run by my husband and I. We specialize in strength-based training for both women and men, with dedicated programs for prenatal and postnatal fitness, women’s-only classes, men’s fitness, and co-ed strength sessions. We also offer online coaching, custom nutrition support, and mat Pilates-inspired classes focused on core strength, mobility, and mindful movement.

What sets us apart is our personalized approach. We’re not a big-box gym—we actually know our members. Every person who walks through our doors gets real coaching, real support, and a real sense of community. We believe fitness should meet you where you’re at—whether you’re a busy parent, returning to fitness after time off, or just wanting to feel better and stronger in your body.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the culture we’ve built. MVMT is more than a workout space—it’s a place where people feel seen, safe, and challenged in the best way. We’ve created an environment that’s welcoming but still results-driven. We don’t believe in quick fixes—we believe in helping people build strength for life.

At the end of the day, we want readers to know that MVMT Fitness is a community-first brand. We care deeply about every person who walks in, and we’re here to support your goals in and out of the gym. Whether you’re training with us in person or online, you’re part of the movement.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The fitness industry is evolving fast—and I think that’s a good thing. Over the next 5–10 years, I see a continued shift toward more personalized, accessible, and lifestyle-driven fitness solutions. People aren’t just looking for a place to work out—they want flexibility, accountability, and community all in one. That’s exactly what we’re building at MVMT.

We plan to expand our offerings, including 24-hour gym access so our members can train on their own schedules while still having access to our expert coaching and support when they need it. I also see more demand for hybrid fitness—where in-person and online coaching work together to create consistency no matter what life throws at you.

Another big shift is the growing awareness of how fitness supports mental health, longevity, and quality of life—not just weight loss or aesthetics. Functional movement, strength training, and core-focused options like our mat Pilates-inspired classes will continue to gain popularity, especially as people look to stay active and strong long term.

At MVMT, we’re excited to be part of that shift. We’re not just following trends—we’re creating an experience that evolves with our community.
