TheBabeGabe , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Making clothes has been so much fun! I recently invested in a heat press and have been able to bring so many ideas to life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is TheBabeGabe and I’m a singer songwriter from Raytown, Missouri. I’ve been making music officially since 2019 but I’ve always had a love for music ever since I could remember. I was in a band for a while called BLACKSTARKIDS but we recently disbanded and I have launched my solo career with my former band mate Tyfaizon and our good friend Medici. I recently dropped my second project this year HONEYPOP: Reloaded. It’s a pop album inspired by all the sounds I grew up loving as a young girl.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My friendship with my former bandmate Tyfaizon. He helped really take music seriously and inspired me to start writing my own songs. He continues to push me to become the musician I know I can be. He’s a very talented and caring person who I look up to.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that all rhe things you’re insecure about and scared to do are going to become some of the most important things in your life. They’re going to help you love yourself more and will eventually lead you to do so many amazing things.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I feel like they would say music and the happiness of the others I care about.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people talk bout my discography and say how amazing and timeless it is. I definitely want my music to live on for people and continue to be discovered by new listeners.
