Story & Lesson Highlights with sirenna beyer of Prairie Village

We’re looking forward to introducing you to sirenna beyer. Check out our conversation below.

sirenna, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would definitely hire myself. I love taking care of people, plus I’m highly skilled, honest, dependable, and a really hard worker. Clients can count on that fact that I will get the job done right the first time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m KC Hoop Girl, a Professional Hoop Dance Artist & Entertainer in Kansas CIty, Missouri.
I perform Hoop Dancing for small and large private & public events.
I also host Hula Hoop Parties for all ages & occassions.
Lastly, I offer weekly Hula Hoop Fitness & Dance Classes and I sell custom Beginner Hula Hoops for adults & kids.
I am also the creator of the KC Hoop Girls Hula Hoop Group, a multigenerational social & performance group that consist Hula Hoopers and Hoop Fans from 8 to 81 years old. .
It’s the Joy that Hooping offers that inspires me to want to share it with others. I like to say that “the Hoop is a big circle & there’s room for anyone who wants to come inside and find the Joy that I found. My brand is classy, casual, fun & positive.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
After starting a career in real estate and working endless hours without success, I was tired, struggeling and depressed. I was beginning to second guess my decision to sell real estate. But instead, I recommited and made a decision that i was going to succeed. Making that decision gave me a strong feeling of power. I felt focused & unstoppable and it helped propel me to become a Top Real Estate Salesperson. The 2nd time I felt that same power was when I started Hoop dancing professionally. It gives me great a sence of power to be able to share my energy & instantly connect with a stranger, and affect their mood in such a positive way. Entertaing is incredibly rewarding & the smiles my dancing brings on the faces of others is highly gratifying.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Quiting always becomes an option when the challenges & problems are so great. I think it’s a test of how much you love what you do and are committed to making a dream a reality.. Covid was one of the biggest challenges. But So far Ive choosen not to quit. I love what I do so I just dig in and work my way thru the problem. Usually during these tough times, something very positive falls in my lap.. When that happens, I see it as a reward for working so hard, and a sign that Im suppose to continue on my path. Plus there’s something to be said about quitting on top and not when you’re down and out. I alway feel best about myself when I end on a high note.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
I believe that hula hooping could be helpful to people with Alzheimers. And possibly improve their condition. Hooping connects mind to body. It enhances focus and engages the mind. It’s fun and having fun has a whole host of postive affects on the mind and body.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m absolutely doing what I was born to do and I’m most passionate about.
