Story & Lesson Highlights with Robyn Neuerburg of Liberty, Missouri

Robyn Neuerburg shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Robyn, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
This weekend, our grandson Timo spent the night and our puppy was chasing him around the house, we enjoyed the hysterical belly laughing from our Timo.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, I’m Robyn Neuerburg. I’m a lover of Jesus, daughter, wife, mom, Mimi and co-founder of Isaac’s Dream. I’ve been a nurse for 22 years and for the last 9 years we’ve also been fighting child slavery/child labor in a rural area of Ghana through our NGO, Isaac’s Dream.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
That’s an easy one, God. He always knew my potential even when I didn’t, and the things I would do in life to leave a legacy. He already knew all about Isaac’s Dream and the lives it would impact.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been lots of times I wanted to give up. Sometimes we are short on donations we need to finish a project or to cover medical needs for a student. We deal with child abuse, recently rape of one of our seven year old students. I just couldn’t figure out how I could be in two places at once and make sure this never happens again and to make sure the people were punished for what they did. It’s a hard thing to balance 7,000 miles away from home.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
We do everything in our power to protect our integrity. We go to great lengths to keep our child sponsorship program honest and special. We can guarantee your letters go to your student. We also do everything we can to use funds wisely and show donors what their funding has done to change the future of not only our beautiful students, but our employees and their families, and any person we have the ability to help in Ghana.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell a story of a woman who loved Jesus and helping others. I hope someone will say a life was changed because we said yes to the calling on our lives in a tiny forgotten community in a rural village in West Africa.
