We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kalyn Bell. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kalyn, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think the power of having a strong social media presence and strategy is undervalued. Some business owners do not see the value of investing in this industry. When in reality, almost all of your traffic is driven into your business digitally. If you do not have a strong online presence, you will not be found online compared to your competitors who are investing in their social platforms.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kalyn! I started my marketing agency in 2021, which focuses on social media management and content creation. I slowly started to evolve my services into offering marketing consulting because of the demand in questions I was getting in my day-to-day.
I would say my brand is unique because of the relationships I focus on building with each client. I like to know every business partnership on a personal level. This helps me understand your goals as a business overall.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My first client. She trusted in me and my services when my business was new/not even launched yet. Taking on my company in a partnership before I had a lot of experience, and I was still a full-time college student, was a big step for her company as well. This helped me gain confidence in myself and see what I could offer more businesses like hers.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I think a lot of little girls get told they are ‘too loud’ or ‘bossy’ by teachers or parents, and it dims who they are at a young age.
I would tell my younger self that it’s okay to be loud and it’s okay to take leadership. These qualities will help you later in life in your career.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Khloe Kardashian:
I follow all of the Kardashians’ business strategies, and I think they are super interesting. The steps they used in building the empire with limited talents are remarkable. But if I had to focus on character over power, it would be Khloe.
She prioritizes her kids and family first. Obviously, I do not know her personally, but from what I see, she is always genuine with her teams. And does not expose the fame to her kids. I think that it is very important for someone’s character, especially with being a mom myself.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace right before bed. I use this time to accomplish MY routine (self-care) and prepare for the next day. This helps set me up for success in the morning.
