Story & Lesson Highlights with Isabella of Flow & Fern Collective

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Isabella of Flow & Fern Collective. Check out our conversation below.

Isabella, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
On an ideal day, after I wake up I like to make tea and go sit outside and meditate with nature, grounding into myself and the day.
Sometimes it’s 10 minutes, sometimes up to an hour depending on how I am feeling that day. Then I like to go to my local coffee shop and get myself a matcha and chat with friends there.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Flow and Fern Collective is a thoughtful and intentional community rooted in the celebration of femininity and the power of connection. Guided by the belief that empowered women empower women, we create a nurturing space where womxn can explore, express, and embrace the full spectrum of their identities.

Through shared knowledge, mindfulness, and opportunities for deep connection, we offer tools and experiences designed to inspire self-awareness, sisterhood, and growth. Flow and Fern is a place to feel seen, supported, and celebrated—together, we grow and bloom.

Flow & Fern Collective hosts workshops & retreats all over the globe, with one coming to Kansas City October 3-6th, 2025

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I am lucky enough to have a life path rooted in authenticity. I look back and the person I was before was who the world told me to be, and as I’ve gotten older I have discovered who I truly am and continue to bloom into that.
I am a light beam of love to inspire others to love themselves the same way, and an activator of connection with others.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to feel deeply, it is a blessing and you can learn how to not lose yourself in it but to transform it.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Toxic positivity, the narrative that everything needs to be ok/good all the time. It’s ok to not be happy sometimes, to be filled with bad feelings. It’s the human condition. The trick is not letting become all consuming. Finding the balance of feeling the bad feelings and then letting them pass and moving forward.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
That bringing women together in support and love of each other creates incredible magic that ripples throughout the world. I love creating spaces for this kind of connection and never want to stop.

I was lucky enough to go to an all womens college so I learned early on the kind of environment and energy that can be created from women supporting each other. Not to say there isn’t competition or issues, but it looks and is handled much differently.
