We recently had the chance to connect with Felicity Hendricks and have shared our conversation below.
Felicity, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Well the first 90 minutes of my day consists of waking up, doing some stretching, brush my teeth and head to the kitchen. I will usually make a heavy metal detox smoothie for breakfast or if I’m really hungry I will scramble some quick eggs if I don’t already have some boiled. I go and get myself ready for my day and head out the door with my lunch in one hand and my yorkipoo in the other. I drop her off at her grandma’s (my mother) every morning or she will come to the office with me for the day. Once I get to the office I turn everything on and set up for the first client of the day. I then check emails, socials, and plan marketing for the day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Felicity Hendricks and I am a National Board Certified Colon Hydrotherapist and a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I help people help themselves in their health and wellness journeys. Colonics or colon hydrotherapy is a unique niche. It helps the average person feel better by cleaning toxins out of the large intestine. Colonics cleanse your colon and can help you feel lighter, cleaner, and give you a reset for your digestive system.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with Jesus honestly. I use to be and sometimes still am so hard on myself to be perfect. I think it’s an oldest sister thing but who knows. But my relationship with Christ reminds me that I don’t have to be perfect, and I feel my best when I am consumed by this relationship and paying attention to it. I feel my humility, to be more humble and down to earth. To put yourself in other’s shoes. Because at the end of the day it’s not about us, ourselves, it’s about who God is calling you to help or shift.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I have had my fair share of health struggles, I’ve been bed ridden, hospitals, doctors. And of course all of that can make you want to give up on everything especially running a business. But the thing is as a business owner you have to learn to put yourself first sometimes and actually work on yourself. As a business owner you are always looking out to what is in front of you, constantly solving problems and rarely have time to reflect. As I’ve chosen to do more of that and focus on me I have gotten so much better physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
God, family, my clients, the gospel and animals of course. That is it.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
How resilient I am.
