Dr. Kaylea Cantrell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Kaylea , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for me starts with my husband and our two little girls (ages 1 and 3). We make breakfast together and soak up a little family time before the day gets going. On the way into the office, I drop the girls off at school, then head in to check in with my team and make sure we’re set to serve patients. Most of my day is spent caring for patients until around 5pm, when I head back home for the best part of my day; playing outside with my girls. Once they’re tucked into bed, my husband and I unwind together over a late dinner and catch up on life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Dr. Kaylea, founder of Catalyst Chiropractic. I’m a chiropractor, wife, and mom of two little girls, and I’m passionate about helping families feel their best at every stage of life. At Catalyst, we believe chiropractic care is more than just adjustments. It is about supporting the body’s natural ability to heal, creating balance, and empowering people to live in abundance.
What makes us unique is the way we care for the whole family, from pregnancy and postpartum to newborns, kids, and adults of all ages. We combine a warm, welcoming environment with personalized care so every patient feels seen and supported. Right now, we are excited to be growing with two doctors and two locations, which means we can serve even more of our community while keeping the same heart-centered approach.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has shaped how I see myself the most is the one I have with my husband.
He has witnessed both my strongest and most vulnerable moments, yet he continues to encourage me, remind me of my worth, and never lets me doubt myself. Marriage and motherhood have been the most refining work of my life. They’ve stretched me, challenged me, and shaped me in ways no professional achievement ever could, molding me into the wife, mother, and CEO I am today. These roles have taught me patience, resilience, and the courage to lead with both heart and purpose.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that has held me back the most in life is the fear of failure. For a long time, I worried about not getting things perfect or making mistakes, and that sometimes kept me from taking risks. Over time, I’ve learned that failure is actually where the most growth happens. Every setback has taught me something valuable and pushed me to become stronger, more resilient, and more creative. Now, I try to see failure as feedback and as a stepping stone toward something better.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would likely say that what matters most to me is building strong, meaningful relationships and being present for the people I care about. They would also point to my commitment to growth and purpose, both in my personal life and through my work. At the heart of everything I do is a desire to see others supported, thriving, and able to live abundantly.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you tap dancing to work? Have you been that level of excited at any point in your career? If so, please tell us about those days.
Yes, I have definitely had seasons where I felt like I was tap dancing to work.
One of the first moments was when I opened my very first practice just three months after graduation and saw my very first patient. I will never forget the mix of nerves and joy I felt stepping into that dream so quickly. Another time was finding my Gardner office, which truly felt like the answer to my prayers, and opening the doors there. More recently, hiring Dr. Hannah and expanding beyond what I ever imagined possible has been another one of those moments. Each of these milestones has reminded me why I love what I do and has brought back that same energy and excitement I felt on day one.
