Today we’d like to introduce you to Will O’keefe
Hi Will , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
New York-born Will O’Keefe, named “Kansas City’s Best Piano Man” by Kansas City Magazine, is a versatile musician with experience as an orchestral percussionist and Broadway touring drummer. Growing up in a large, musically inclined family, he developed a love for drums but eventually transitioned to piano and vocal entertainment. With over 750 songs in his repertoire, O’Keefe now refers to himself as a “human jukebox.” Catch him performing live at top venues across Kansas City and on his Twitch channel, where he brings music to life with dynamic performances and audience interaction.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Certainly NOT smooth. I truly believe that when one follows a passion project it will be feast an famine. The lessons we learn, opportunities we say yes or no, the relationships we make…. all add to a crazy game of Life Chutes and Ladders.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Being a one man Jukebox with over 800 songs allows me to make the guests of the party in charge of what they dance/drink/get down to throughout the night. With my mastery level where it is now, I can even bring “live karaoke” to events, this really brings the joy out of people. In this chapter of the world, we can ALL use more joy!
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Audible opened my mind to more learning after a decade of not absorbing new information. Honestly I might have a dash of dyslexia after hearing the struggles of legends that I have learned from listening to audible “self-help” books. Certainly part of who I am today is the learns I got from listening while driving to wedding or corporate gigs over the last 10 years!
