Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Woods.
Hi Tyler, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I gained my interest in music in 5th grade when my sister would burn music on cds for me off mixtape websites. artist like tyga, lil Wayne, drake, big Sean, Kanye west and Eminem. I wrote my 1st rap in 7th grade I didn’t think much of it until I rapped it to my best friend and seen his reaction which was confirmation that it’s what I should be doing. I really got consistent with it my freshman year in high school and when I was a senior i dropped my 1st single and video “drippin my flava” that went viral in my town . since then I’ve thought outside the box with my producer Felix (the bounce house) coming up with better bars and vibes that are true to my experiences but that other people can relate to as well. there’s been a lot of hardships dealing with my relationships with people, life and trying to lean the business aspects of the music industry all wile still making the music it’s self but it’s truly what I love to do and I’m good at it so I take what comes with it
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of my struggles along the way is getting friends and family to see my vision. it Seems like no matter how serious you can be about something or vividly explain what you see for yourself in the near future or far or how much work you put in. the people you’ve known the longest won’t believe in you until you accomplish something they didn’t think you could accomplish, and when you do it they either hate you for it or decide to push you. I’ve learned to not let that get to me and keep a tunnel vision . I feel like you get more support and help along the way from people you don’t know so I try to reach those people through my music . it could be as big as a label executive wanting to get in contact with me to somebody simply putting 1 of my songs on their playlist I’m grateful for the support on both ends of the scale . I’ve also lost relationships due to the tunnel vision and it hurt but at the same time I know the reward for having it will be incomparable. I don’t expect to be an over night success not saying it can’t happen but I don’t expect it and even though my feet hurt I know it’s a marathon not a race and I’ll run it as long as I need to.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I go by the name T-TRILLEY I like to think of my style as somewhat of a lyricist. Having a couple different flows a song is a big deal to me if the song calls for it . I have a few songs where I’d say I do a little story telling some with straight bars or just a nice feel good vibe all together. rather I’m talking about a relationship with a girl or just being on a relentless grind or something that just makes you want to put on your best fit, get out into the city and just ride to the music. I think what sets me apart from others is I’m not really a street dude or rap about the streets I like to rap about things that almost everyone can relate to without it sounding backpack, being something I’m not or making something that you can’t understand what I’m saying and doesn’t make sense. What im most proud of now in my career is getting my song “for the moment” placed in a up coming movie “High value killer” coming out in a few months so be on the look out for that .

The book that helps me the best in my life is the bible . Not a lot of people believe but I know that I’ve only gotten the opportunity’s I’ve gotten in my career and life in general are because of my belief in god and Jesus Christ.
