Today we’d like to introduce you to Raegan Abel
Hi Raegan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From Heartbreak to Healing: My Journey in the Hair Industry
Growing up, my childhood was forever altered when my sister was diagnosed with cancer. As I watched her vibrant hair slowly become fine and fragile, my heart broke for her—her physical transformation a constant reminder of her struggle. Her hair never returned to normal, and that image stayed with me.
Years later, I found my calling in the hair industry, becoming certified in Invisible Bead Extensions®️. This extension method stood out to me for its focus on hair health, and I knew I wanted to use it to help others feel beautiful without compromising the integrity of their hair.
The first time I installed extensions in my sister’s hair, I felt like I was witnessing a miracle. Her fine hair transformed into her dream hair, and seeing her smile again filled me with purpose. It was in that moment that I knew this was where I was meant to be.
A year ago, I took a leap of faith and opened my own business. It has been an incredible journey of transformation for both my clients and me. Each person who sits in my chair carries a story, and I am honored to play a part in their journey.
Recently, I hired my first assistant, who shares my passion for this work. Together, we create a supportive environment for our clients. With my training from some of the best in the industry and my experience at Stitch Salon, I’ve become a master technician with Invisible Bead Extensions®️.
My journey is a testament to resilience and the healing power of beauty. Every day, I strive to help others feel empowered, just as my sister did for me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There are SO many hand-tied extension methods out there..
Honestly, as a consumer I was once SO CONFUSED! At first I did little to no research. I just wanted it done FAST AND EASY!
I was impatient and went for the first extensions artist I found. I invested all of my money right out of hair school. I quickly learned that fast and easy isn’t always best.
Visually I remember looking for these 3 things when researching different methods..
-> No beads showing
-> Clean lines and neatness
-> Cut and color blend
With the off-brand method I invested in, I got:
-> Bald spots
-> DAMAGE
-> Red sores
Ohhhh boy…did I learn quickly. EDUCATION AND RESEARCH SHOWS!
Fast forward…I immediately learned from my mistakes, did the research and invested in Invisible Bead Extensions®️
This is why I put in the work to become a skilled extension artist in Kansas City. I’m a master technician in Invisible Bead Extension’s. Investing in education to help my clients feel confident in their hair and my work is my biggest priority.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I didn’t realize this until a month after switching to Invisible Bead Extensions.
I felt immediate relief. There was no more sores, tension, pulling, or heaviness.
This is when I knew..I NEED TO DO THIS.
My goal is to help you achieve your dream hair WHILE ALSO keeping the health of your natural hair a priority.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
