Today we’d like to introduce you to Paxton Dawson.
Hi Paxton, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I studied Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and graduated as a Chancellor’s Scholar in December 2021. A few months before graduation, I launched LINK x LOU permanent jewelry and spent the next four years growing that business in Lincoln, Dallas, Kansas City, and Richmond. That experience immersed me in the events world and small business community, where I learned what it means to be an entrepreneur in a world that’s craving authentic connection and meaningful experiences beyond the digital space.
I’ve always been a creator at heart — I started doing calligraphy when I was 13 and even taught art camps in my basement during middle and high school. I’ve always called myself a creativepreneur.
While planning my wedding, I fell back in love with event design and DIY creation. Around that time, I discovered calligraphy engraving on Instagram and was instantly hooked. I ordered all the supplies and, as a newly married gal who had just moved across the country to Virginia, it became my new passion.
In early 2024, I made the leap to step away from LINK x LOU and launch my own business — Paxton Dawson Creative Co. I wanted to combine my love for creating meaningful details with my heart for meaningful moments. Today, I create personalized gifts through calligraphy, engraving, hot foiling, and wood burning, and offer on-site personalization experiences for events. Through event styling and custom merchandise, I help individuals and businesses bring their vision to life in a creative and approachable way — because every moment deserves to be cherished.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entrepreneurship is never easy or straightforward, but I’ve always known I had the vision, passion, and calling from the Lord to bring this dream to life. I officially launched Paxton Dawson Creative Co. in June 2024 with so much excitement — a branding photoshoot, incredible support from friends and family, and a heart full of purpose.
Shortly after, my husband and I made the decision to move back to Kansas City that fall, and my business naturally went on pause during that transition. Around that same time, I found out I was pregnant with our first daughter — such a sweet and life-changing surprise. In March, I relaunched my business here in Kansas City, began taking on events and creating meaningful gifts again, and then paused once more for the birth of our daughter in August.
Now, with this third revitalization of Paxton Dawson Creative Co., I feel ready to fully invest my time, passion, and energy into seeing this business grow and thrive. The Lord has been so faithful from the very beginning — continually keeping the spark alive by sending clients, opportunities, and encouragement right when I needed it most.
Like any entrepreneur, I’ve faced seasons of doubt and comparison, but I always come back to the truth that this business was never mine alone — it’s a gift and a calling. I’m confident in the passion, skills, and vision He’s placed within me, and I know that every opportunity and success will continue to come through His guidance.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Paxton Dawson Creative Co., I specialize in creating meaningful, personalized details that make people feel seen and celebrated. I offer custom calligraphy, engraving, hot foiling, and wood burning — both as handcrafted gifts and as live experiences at events. From engraving perfume bottles at bridal showers to hot-foiling leather goods at corporate events, my goal is to turn ordinary moments into keepsakes that tell a story.
Beyond personalization, I also offer event styling and custom merchandise services to help individuals and businesses bring their vision to life in a cohesive, elevated, and approachable way. Whether it’s helping a bride design her dream bridal shower or helping a local church create custom apparel, every project is about curating moments and cherishing memories.
What I’m most proud of is how this business reflects my heart — it’s not just about beautiful designs, but about creating connection and joy. Each piece I make is done with care, intention, and purpose. I want people to look back and remember how a simple detail made them feel loved and thought of.
What truly sets me apart is the combination of creativity and intentionality that I bring to everything I do. I care deeply about the experience behind the product. I’m passionate about excellence and detail, but even more about the meaning that those details carry. My faith guides every decision and has shaped this business into something much deeper than a creative outlet — it’s a way to serve others and make them feel known, valued, and inspired.
How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck — I believe in direction and grace from the Lord. Every opportunity, connection, and season in my business has been guided by Him. Any success I’ve had is because of His strength within me and His vision for this business coming to life.
There have been challenges, delays, and times of uncertainty, but even those have been covered by His purpose. I’ve seen over and over again how God opens the right doors at the right time and provides exactly what I need to keep moving forward. It’s not luck — it’s faith, diligence, and trust in what He’s called me to do.
