Rising Stars: Meet Olivia Hayse of Derby KS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Hayse.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Sure. I moved to Kansas in 2018; before that, I lived in South Texas, where I was the co-founder of a boutique digital marketing firm along with my husband. As much as we loved living in a bustling, growing city – we started to get serious about where our food came from. We started looking at land and eventually found 20 acres just outside Wichita. Now, we homeschool and homestead, and I share all of our adventures online. I’ve gained a following by sharing all the different sides of my life, not just one niche like many branding experts had previously suggested. I am currently the author and host of “The Mama Marketer” blog and podcast. I also work locally with nonprofits in event planning, photography & design work. My faith is also really important to me. I have a book coming out later this year called “Crooked Paths Straight,” which details how my faith has helped me. I start with my family’s story about immigrating here from Mexico in the 1960s, and it ends with my practical tips on leading a faithful home-based lifestyle.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In retrospect, the most challenging time was actually when I was working as an entrepreneur running my marketing agency. As entrepreneurs, we face so much pressure that we don’t talk enough about it. We are constantly told to “lean in,” “hustle,” and “grind.” But, in reality, that is not a sustainable way to live your life. We made a drastic change when we moved to the farm, but that change ultimately led to my finding balance. I am very passionate about helping other entrepreneurs guard themselves against the mistakes I made early on.

Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
My overall mission is to help other women accomplish their life goals. A big part is a content I share on my blog, podcast, and social media channels. I love to share encouragement, tips, and even helpful products. While I don’t run the day-to-day marketing for clients anymore, a big part of what I do these days is training. I work 1×1 with entrepreneurs to teach them what I know about digital marketing. I leave seeing them “jump the nest” and take off on their own on social media! Some other ways I help women: I work as a “wedding coach,” where I help brides plan the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank. I work as an “enneagram coach,” teaching others how to use this powerful tool to get to know and accept themselves. I also speak at conferences or retreats, sharing anything from digital marketing training to leading faith-based conversations. I am about embracing every facet of myself and trying to lead by example by being a proud “multi-passionate.”

Alright, before we go, can you talk to us about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I love making new connections online! I would love for readers to follow me on social media. Instagram is probably my favorite platform. Feel free to follow and message me there anytime. Also, if you want to be the first to know about new blogs, podcasts, and when my book debuts later this year – please subscribe to my blog at themamamarketer.com! Thank you for your time and including me in this interview!
