Rising Stars: Meet Mallory Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Green.

Mallory Green

Hi Mallory, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I can remember, I have loved the beauty industry. I remember doing my aunts’ and cousins’ hair and makeup as a little girl when they would come over, and I enjoyed doing makeup for all my friends for school dances. I never thought I would be able to turn what I loved into a full-time career, but I received an opportunity to work as an assistant to a makeup artist in my hometown while I was in college. Through this experience, I could see firsthand how much I loved being in the bridal industry. Once I moved to Kansas City, while I was finishing up my bachelor’s degree, I started Paradise. I then went to cosmetology school after getting my business degree to further my education. We’ve been blessed to grow a little bit each year and now have a fantastic team of 12 makeup artists and hairstylists.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have been really blessed. However, the biggest challenges that have turned into great learning opportunities are balancing my time and all of my daily tasks, learning to communicate effectively, keeping up with ever-evolving social media platforms and marketing strategies, and growing and maintaining our team.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I personally offer makeup and airbrush tanning services through Paradise. However, Paradise, as a whole, offers makeup, hairstyling, airbrush tanning, and brow and lash services. My passion is makeup, for sure. I love working with women and getting to hear their stories. I love being able to be creative while, at the same time, making each client feel like the most beautiful version of themself. There is so much power in feeling confident, and I love to be a small piece of helping women feel confident. I am the most proud of our team. They are an incredibly talented group of women, and we have become like family. I’ve learned so many personal and professional lessons from each of them, and we are genuinely there for each other and support each other through the good times and the bad. They are some of my greatest blessings. There are a few things that set us apart. Integrity is incredibly important to me, and I try my very best to always do what I say I will do. Our clients trust us with some of their most important moments, and I take that very seriously. Next, I’m very proud of our skill level overall as a team. We stay on top of the latest trends, techniques, and products. We are also very confident in working with all skin types and tones and hair types and textures. Lastly, it is very important to us that we create a fun yet relaxing environment for our clients.

What were you like growing up?
I was a girly girl and loved wearing dress-up heels and doing my family members’ hair and makeup. My mom was patient, always letting me do her makeup when I asked. I also loved to play outside, jump on the trampoline, play with my friends, do gymnastics, and roll around on my rollerblades. Personality-wise, I remember being so sure of myself as a little kid. I didn’t second guess myself, and I stood up for what I believed in. As I’ve gotten older and gone through so many experiences, I’m still the same in many ways. However, it’s easy to look at choices through the lenses of so many different perspectives, and I want to ensure everyone is happy and taken care of in each decision. Some of that is beautiful, but I could learn a few things from younger Mallory.
