Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Heller.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
In my “past life,” I worked in Field Marketing and Community Relations for big box brands like Babies “R” Us and Barnes & Noble. I established roots in retail and event marketing, growing up in my career during the birth of social media and social commerce. A life-changing, emotional journey to grow my family led me to become a stay-at-home mom for many years, during which I developed a love for entrepreneurship. Since the birth of my twins in 2012, I have successfully grown 2 businesses, volunteering my talents and time in the non-profit sector. Since January 2020, I have provided virtual marketing services for busy entrepreneurs, business owners, and decision-makers through Twin Mom CEO. Whether it’s creating email campaigns, blogging, or developing social media content and strategy, my goal is to help you gain maximum exposure for your brand. From content creation to consulting, I will help you find a clear sense of direction, save time, and feel confident knowing your business is in good hands!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Diving into entrepreneurship always comes with its challenges. It’s 100% a learn-as-you-go process. There’s always a wrong time, or you must be more ready. Ever. However, I had a great plan when I officially started as Twin Mom CEO in January 2020. I found a highly-networked friend to offer my services to, initially for free, to get experience and build my portfolio. My work product quickly spoke to my marketing capabilities and led to me landing several other clients in just a few short weeks, thanks to referrals. What I had yet to plan for was the Pandemic! How can you? I had begun a thriving business, and suddenly, just over 2 months in, I found myself a full-time mom and teacher. I turned my office into a classroom and worked alongside my kids. The world was shutting down, but my clients needed marketing more than ever! They had to find a way to pivot, and so did I!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I see myself as a marketer and a problem solver. As a Virtual Marketing Assistant, I solve a problem for small to medium-sized businesses that often need more expertise or resources to implement basic marketing practices or tools. I aim to authentically market and communicate your brand story to your target audience. I do it in a way where I am showing the value behind what I provide and educating my clients on strategy. The service I get asked about the most is social media content strategy, curation, and scheduling. I love the word curate because I’m not a graphic designer by trade. I work with your brand guidelines, photos, logos, and videos and will use those tools, like Canva, to create beautiful, on-brand content.
Another thing my clients can expect from working with me is a personalized experience. I will be in touch as often as you’d like. However, some clients trust me to take the reins, seeing my service as the “easy button.” We chat once a month, and they’re perfectly content. Also, I am constantly evaluating what’s working and what’s not and adjusting as necessary. I don’t niche myself, so I have experience working across all different industries. This keeps things interesting for me and gives me a unique perspective and experience across various channels of commerce. My clients have included insurance agents, promotional products companies, luxury transportation, senior living, attorneys, interior designers, and more. I have a reputation for being very easy to work with and great at listening to my client’s wants and needs.
So, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you before we go? How can they support you?
Email, email, email; I have so many mental tabs open at any given time that it’s the best way to communicate and keep up! If you’re interested in contracting with me, email me! I always want to connect with talented people seeking part-time work in my industry. To support me, you can always follow me on social media, send me referrals, or reach out to connect. I enjoy networking and getting to know new people!
