Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon Hodges
Hi Landon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Through out high school I always struggled to find something that I could say I wanted to do for the rest of my life while for others it seemed so easy. Two years ago during junior year my interest for photography was sparked by a National Geographic wildlife documentary. It wasn’t until a little over a year ago when I decided I wanted to give it a shot and I bought a camera. Ever since then photography is something I know I love. Photography has also provided me a much needed escape from the stresses and anxities most experience in normal life something I am very grateful for. The past year I have applied many hours to honing my photography by shooting a variety of different landscapes, wildlife, senior photos and more. I have been extra excited while on vacations to South Dakota, Colorado, and New York knowing how photogenic these locations can be. My passion for being behind the camera as a full time job is the dream that I will achieve.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As an eighteen year old there are many pressures and fears but believing in myself is most important no matter how discouraged I may get. Trying to get a start hasn’t been easy but I know keeping up the work and branching out will lead to good opportunities.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a young photographer my biggest interest is nature and wildlife photography. However, in order to expand my horizons I have done senior portraits and these are what I’m most proud. I find that interacting with others and making them happy is highly rewarding. Being eighteen I feel my youth sets me apart from others because I have been fortunate to find my passion early so I can learn, grow, and become successful.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is learning from your mistakes and being able to achieve what makes you most happy.
