Rising Stars: Meet Joanna And Anthony Freeman of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joanna And Anthony Freeman.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It started as a passion for nerdy stuff that grew into a family who loved nerdy stuff. Joanna got sick and was not able to work a traditional job. She found that doing things like building lego sets and playing games helped her on her road to recovery and we loved it. We loved it so much that we decided it would be awesome to try and create something where we could share the love we had for these things and this culture along with its healing powers to all who enjoy and love it as our family does. So we created a Ebay store where we could sell new and used items that revolve around pop culture and all things nerdy. From collectibles to video games and tabletop games with even a few other odds and ends make up our extensive inventory.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was a tough road and Joanna was really sick. We had to sell everything we had at one point to fund a trip to the Mayo clinic in Florida to be seen for a week there. It broke us financially and put us in a spiraling debt. She made several attempts to recover and at one point spent awhile in inpatient locally. I Anthony, her husband was very anxious about it and decided that I would create something for her while she was away and attempt to surprise her with it upon her return, so then TNT Tabletop/Nerds/Tech LLC was born Jan 1st 2026. I created a website and Ebay store complete with all the stops. When she came home she was overwhelmed with what I had created and a little upset that I did it without her. I know it was kinda bad to do it but I did not want to add the stress and anxiety of it all to her already full plate. We have been progressively picking up on sales but are still pretty small in scale.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Anthony’s main job is as a Construction Coordinator for Spectrum Communications and Joanna is a stay at home mom who runs the majority of TNT from our home. I am proud Joanna gets to enjoy working with the things she loves and share it with others all from the safety and comfort of home. Joanna likes the flexibility of it. As TNT we specialize in bringing the games, toys, electronics and collectibles to anyone we can from vintage to new. We deliver quality products backed by a 100% customer rating on Ebay. If something goes wrong we will do anything we can to try and make it right.

What matters most to you?
Sharing these things with other people at reasonable prices is very important to us. There are not a-lot of vintage toy, game, or collectible vendors today that will sell you that old car you used to play with when you were younger cheaper than any others or even that new game that just came out for less than retail. We do just that. We find it, we acquire it as cheap as possible, then we delivery it our customers for the lowest price business will allow often times barely making a profit. Why? It’s not about the profit, it is about sharing a feeling, a healing component, a therapy aid, a love, a passion, an idea that if you could have that thing you once loved and lost back again to share with your family and enjoy once more, it makes us happy to be able do that.
