Rising Stars: Meet Jeff Luttrell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Luttrell.

Hi Jeff, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My band Conjuring The Æther was put together in October 2019.

Nick Faddis the Bass Player and myself Jeff Luttrell the lead singer and guitarist met at an Open Jam hosted by a friend at his house. We’re primarily blues rock and soul but play several of the other styles like reggae, jazz, funk, Motown, alt-rock, etc. I would say the large portion of our music consists of classic rock but since we like so many musical styles and are heavily influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin that did not shy away from playing various styles I would say we’re influenced to do the same.

As of November 2021, we were joined by a Kansas City veteran of the music scene David Norlin on Drums and look forward to putting out a full-length record of original material we’ve written by the end of 2022.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s been a lot of rehearsal.

You know sort of woodshedding and sharpening our chops and that sort of thing and the pandemic was definitely a setback as we were ready to a gig by February 2020 so we were kind of hit hard by the following month when we found out we couldn’t go out and play lol.

Other than that I’d say it’s gone pretty well. One thing I definitely would say is that both Nick and I have had our share of bands that didn’t work out for one reason or another in the past.

We both spent a lot of time in bands with folks that weren’t dedicated, too flaky, etc lol. So I will definitely say it’s nice to share a group with folks like Nick and David that are very goal-oriented and are dedicated to the craft and always are looking to take this band to the next level.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Nick Faddis the Bassist is a successful business owner of 10 years strong and growing.

David Norlin the drummer is a paraprofessional at the Gardner Kansas school district. And I (Jeff Luttrell) the Lead Vocalist/Guitarist am a package car driver for UPS where I’ve been employed now for going on 27 years.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I would say we have a great music scene and many places to play both in the city and the surrounding Metro.

I would say probably one of the best things I like about our city would be some of the clubs like Knuckleheads that give our city a lot of notoriety anywhere you go in this country. I would also say that the worst thing I like about the city is how other bigger cities regard our scene because I think our scene has a lot to offer and it’s very rich and eclectic.

So in that regard, I would say there’s not much I dislike about our city really. I’ve lived here my whole life and after traveling our country a bit I would say I love our city really!
