Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Moser.
Hi Jared, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey with Nerkco comes from a long-standing passion for competitive gaming, technology, and building strong digital communities. Over the years, I’ve worked across game development, web platforms, publishing, and leadership-focused roles, all of which helped shape the vision behind the company.
Alongside my military career, where I developed experience in leadership, operations, and international collaboration, I continued pursuing game and platform development. I’ve worked on mobile game projects, competitive gaming systems, and I’m currently developing Zero Ops, an upcoming tactical third-person shooter planned for PlayStation 5 inspired by classic team-based competitive gameplay.
My background in both military operations and game development heavily influences how I approach Nerkco. The platform is designed around teamwork, strategy, progression, and long-term community engagement — creating an ecosystem where players feel connected to something larger than individual matches.
At its core, Nerkco is focused on pushing competitive gaming forward through immersive experiences, strong community identity, and modern systems built for the next generation of players.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. A lot of what I’ve built came from having to create opportunities instead of waiting for them.
I was raised by a single mother, and growing up, we didn’t have shortcuts, connections, or unlimited resources. A lot of the time it was about figuring things out as we went and learning how to adapt early. That environment taught me resilience, independence, and the mindset of earning everything through consistency and hard work.
There were plenty of moments where balancing everything felt overwhelming — military responsibilities, long hours, deployments, travel, development work, and trying to build projects from the ground up with limited time and resources. Most people only see the finished ideas, but behind them are years of late nights, setbacks, failed concepts, rebuilding systems, and teaching myself skills along the way.
Building Nerkco has been a reflection of that journey. It wasn’t created by a massive studio or backed by a huge team from day one. It came from years of passion for gaming, community-building, and wanting to create something meaningful that could genuinely stand out in the industry.
At the same time, I continued developing other projects, including mobile game concepts and Zero Ops, an upcoming PlayStation 5 tactical shooter inspired by the kind of strategic, team-focused gameplay I grew up loving. Pursuing game development while serving in the military required a lot of sacrifice and discipline, but it also gave me a unique perspective on leadership, teamwork, and building systems around trust and coordination.
More than anything, the struggles taught me how to stay persistent. I’ve never really followed a traditional path — I’ve had to carve my own. Every challenge, setback, and obstacle became part of the foundation for what I’m building now, and that journey continues to drive both Nerkco and the projects connected to it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Most of my work revolves around building things — whether that’s teams, systems, platforms, or games. Professionally, I’ve spent years in the military working in operational and leadership-focused roles that required a lot of coordination, problem solving, and adaptability. I’ve had the opportunity to work internationally, including in Germany and during a deployment to Saudi Arabia, which gave me a much broader perspective on leadership and working under pressure. I’m also currently pursuing pilot training.
Outside of that, I’ve always been deeply involved in technology and gaming. I’m the founder of Nerkco and currently developing Zero Ops, a tactical shooter coming to PlayStation 5. I’ve also worked on mobile games, competitive gaming platforms, and other creative projects over the years.
I’d say I’m known for being someone who can take big ideas and actually execute them. A lot of people have concepts — I enjoy building the systems behind them and staying committed long enough to make them real.
What I’m most proud of is that none of this came from a traditional path or major backing. I was raised by a single mother and had to learn early on how to create opportunities for myself. Everything I’ve built has come from persistence, self-teaching, and staying consistent even when things were uncertain. I think that perspective is what really sets me apart.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was staying up late playing competitive games with friends and family, especially during the early online gaming era when communities felt smaller and more personal. Back then, it wasn’t really about streaming, content creation, or making money — it was just about competition, teamwork, and the excitement of building friendships through games.
Those experiences honestly shaped a lot of who I am today. They sparked my interest in creating communities and eventually inspired projects like Nerkco and my work in game development. Looking back, I think that sense of connection and shared competition is what made those memories stand out so much.
