Rising Stars: Meet Hannah Parker of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Parker.

Hi Hannah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child of a dysfunctional family system, I have spent many years working to reparent myself, and through that journey, I have always sought new ways to learn, grow, and evolve. I was introduced to Reiki in the fall of 2022 through the spa I now work at, Ellevate Skin and Brows, as an add-on to a facial. I can’t tell you what I thought that day, but it sounded yoga adjacent, so I gave it a shot. The profound healing I experienced during that session was different than any other healing modality I had tried up until that point in my life. A few months later, my now boss, Ellen, was teaching Reiki 1, and I took a chance to try something new. From the moment I learned more about Reiki and how to connect with energy, I knew something would change for me. I quickly signed up for the next class and started practicing on anyone who would let me. Fast forward a few months, and there was an opening at the spa. I threw my hat in the ring, not knowing how it would work with the rest of my life, but just knowing I needed to try, and now here I am, two years later, a practicing Reiki Master and teacher. Through that journey, I also decided to obtain my certification as an ICF trauma-informed coach to better serve my clientele and work with local businesses to ensure they offer the safest services possible. So many doors have opened up for me because of this opportunity. I have practiced Reiki in some of the most beautiful places, like Mexico and Arizona, working alongside Megan’s Yoga tribe on retreat. I have had the opportunity to be a part of so many different people’s healing journeys, and that is what fills up my cup: seeing others heal, as I know how life-changing it can be.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. Anyone who has been on any type of healing journey can tell you the road is never smooth. It comes with all kinds of potholes, detours, and U-turns. The biggest thing, as cliché as it sounds, is simply believing in myself. I didn’t grow up in a place where alternative forms of healing were widely accepted, so taking this journey into a traditional Japanese form of energy healing was a big step for me. With the help of my clients, I have been able to see how much the work I do matters and why it is crucial, and for that, I will be forever thankful to my clientele.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a trauma-informed coach, consultant, and Reiki master. I am dedicated to ushering people and businesses into an era of healing, safety, and growth. I am most proud of understanding how deeply trauma can impact someone and ensuring that everyone feels valued, safe, and supported. My deep connection with my intuition sets me apart, particularly in my Reiki practice, which helps clients connect to themselves. Being able to provide Reiki clients with imagery or phrases that are meaningful to them helps further their healing long after they have left the treatment room.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Ellen Watkins- owner of Ellevate Skin and Brows

Thank you for taking a chance on me and allowing me to join our team. I would not be where I am today without your guidance.

Megan Sevart-Culbertson- owner of Megan’s Yoga Tribe

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to take Reiki to new locations. The amount of healing that is facilitated on a Megan’s Yoga Tribe retreat is a high that I will continue to chase.

Corey Brown- owner of Corey Brown Photography
Thank you for being such a fantastic storyteller. I would not be as confident to share my story if I didn’t have your images to lean on.
