Rising Stars: Meet Erun Daniels

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erun Daniels.

Hi Erun, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri to a family full of musical talent. My Mother and grandmother started me out in song at a very young age. I can think back to 6 or 7 actually learning a lot from both of them. Lost my father to gun violence in 1996 in Little Rock, Arkansas where most of my family is from. I started really diving into music after one of my best friends died on Aug. 22, 2012, which changed my life completely. I lost my uncle months later which was the last straw so I worked even harder with music.

After having 3 children, and getting married having a happy family for 9 years ended and added more fuel to the fire. I decided after the break-up to send myself to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for treatment at Legacy Healing which was the best decision of my life. After that turned to I went to a place called Midwest Recovery Center near home which added the last bit of fuel I needed to bring me to who I am today. I am a humble Producer/Singer/Rapper/Songwriter/Influential Father anyone would ask for. I pride myself on everything I have overcome in the last few years because now I own a Record Label Called “TuuFonkii4U”. As of right now, I am working with a hand full of artists and we are bringing a totally different new flavor to the music scene completely.

Versatility, insane work ethic, our style of music is very out of the blue but I say my music is for “Everybody and their momma”.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say my life has not been a smooth road due to so many tragedies in my life I never had an outlet that I could make and now that I play piano some, and create my own style of music it truly gives me that get away from the world which adds more positivity into the community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am most proud of getting my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as well as playing on a college basketball scholarship.

I’m a huge computer nerd at heart but my writing style sets me apart because I talk about a multitude of topics, from content relating to men’s mental health, religion, addiction, the social problems in the world or community, dance songs, etc. I work in the Computer Field right now.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being the Underdog, I feel my life hasn’t been easy so showing myself that I can do anything and music was one thing I have always wanted to do and now I can say that I am doing it and have a nice following.
