Hello Dopelee Prezzed By S, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
In December 2023, my husband, Leroy (Monty), and myself, Kimberly (K), officially created an LLC named Dopelee Prezzed by S. Our business, based in the outskirts of Kansas City, Missouri, specializes in making custom sublimation and DTF designs for Wood Prezzi’s, T-shirts, Roc Slate and more to come.
Our journey from the idea to a new small business was filled with challenges and growth, which we overcame through research, determination, and hard work. The idea for Dopelee Prezzed by S was born when I received a sublimation printer as a birthday gift in March 2023. I was excited about the endless possibilities this new tool offered. Our hard work is starting to pay off. We attracted the attention of Voyage KC and inquired about featuring our business in an upcoming issue.
This was a huge opportunity, but I was skeptical. We decided to proceed and contacted the magazine to ensure the offer was legitimate. The journey of Dopelee Prezzed by S did not stop with creating the business. We continue to explore new ideas and ways to expand our business. We’re also committed to being a blessing to others.
Our story is a true testament to the power of determination, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a reminder that success is not always instant, but with perseverance, you can overcome any challenge and achieve your dreams.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Navigating the startup world has been a wild rollercoaster ride! Every business tale is packed with twists and turns. Picture this: we kicked off by trying to work some magic on wood before our business was even a real-deal thing. We dove into the wood selection puzzle and the tricky art of transferring designs onto it. Oh, and what about the ongoing saga of our QR codes on tees?
It’s like a never-ending maze! We kept scratching our heads over androids struggling with scanning while iPhones breezed through like QR code pros. It turns out that some androids need a QR code app to play nicely. We even turned our work phone into a QR code playground for detective work!
The learning curve is steep, but we’re all about leveling up and sharing the wisdom with our loyal believers. Because, hey, it’s not just about looking good – it’s all about that top-notch quality!

We are both employed; I work in social services while my husband is in the automobile industry. Holding leadership roles in our respective fields, we manage full-time jobs alongside our new venture as small business owners.
Balancing these responsibilities can be demanding, especially when pursuing our entrepreneurial dreams. Finding equilibrium between work and chasing dreams poses a significant challenge, but it is a journey we are committed to.
Our perseverance is fueled by our belief in our purpose and dedication to realizing our ambitions.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Diving into the modern era, social platforms like TikTok have been my go-to for learning. TikTok, Instagram, and even Facebook groups have been my virtual teachers. While still on the lookout for a mentor, having savvy business gurus in our corner would be a dream!
Surrounding ourselves with dream-chasers who keep it real is the ultimate goal. Networking is a blast, and who needs formal events when you can chat with strangers, share your vibe, and just be authentically you? Believe in yourself and keep the dream train rolling.
