Today we’d like to introduce you to Cindy Roberts.
Hi Cindy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We live on a 300 acre farm and a partially finished building and 50 acres came up for sale next to our farm. We decided to purchase it. My husband and I both have played music and we thought it would be nice to have music shows after we finished the building. We finished the building and not only just have music shows we host weddings and all types of local events.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall it has been very rewarding. The biggest bump in the road was that we opened a social gathering place during the covid outbreak when social gatherings suddenly became against the law. Time has certainly helped us overcome that obstacle.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a retired Probation and Parole Officer and my husband is a retired Kansas City Missouri Fireman. You might say we were both involved in social services. Having an event center is completely different type of work for both of us but in a way we are still involved with people and helping meet their celebrating and social needs.
What are your plans for the future?
We are both retired and are enjoying managing our event center. It brings us both joy watching others enjoy our facility.
