Today we’d like to introduce you to Boogie Corleone.

Hi Boogie , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was raised by my grandmother – who was heavy into church- due to my mother passing at an early age & my father was absent . I began spoken word & rapping as an outlet for my emotions without having to own all of the feelings, or to actually have to talk to anyone about them. Once I recognized how good I felt after I finished a song, poem or story I just wanted to create timeless projects that can relate to everyday situations and feelings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never smooth trying to achieve a goal in my opinion, but the work is always worth it. There have been instances where giving up seemed like the best option for me, times where my support system lacked and times where I simply felt lost in what I was doing. As an independent artist you fund everything you do and have to figure out what exactly to do in general. There’s a lot of trial and error in music and art in general. A lot of drawing & erasing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I aim make music of all genres , but mainly known for hip-hop and r&b music, as well as community outreach and event organizing such as toy drives, back pack give away as and Mother’s Day banquets. Im most proud that I haven’t given up despite the setbacks and losses I’ve experienced during this journey.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk are mandatory ! If you don’t take a risk you won’t know what you’re truly made of or what your limits truly are . Things aren’t always supposed to be comforting or understandable, life is supposed to and will challenge you all around the board mentally physically and emotionally. Calculated risk are how you become unstoppable
