Rising Stars: Meet Anna Butler of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Butler.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I fell in love with photography at a very young age. For Christmas I got a camcorder from my parents. I remember taking a picture of my great grandmother and thinking “wow, now I can remember her like this forever.” That is why photography is so important to me. Life is fleeting, so we should take time to pause and freeze those important moments and give thanks. I believe God has given me a creative mind for a purpose. To spread His Gospel and love to others through art. My mission is to serve others using my God given gifts to bring light and hope through photography. To bring families together for years to come.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was definitely hard at first. The hardest part to this day is knowing where to start. Something that encourages me is remembering there is no “perfect” way to get started. As long as you do something every day, you are moving forward! Take it one step at a time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer in the Kansas City area. I specialize in weddings and lifestyle portraits. I am known for my wedding photos and my family pictures. I am very proud of how far I have come with my confidence. I am a fairly shy person, but when I am taking wedding pictures I know how to take charge to get the best photos possible. I would say my faith sets me apart. I want to bless people through my work. I try to pray over all my clients Numbers 6:24-26, “The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
one piece of advice is to not hesitate to take pictures! Someday you will want to look back and remember the good old days.
