Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Sharp.
Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Season 7 really grew out of my love for fashion and my love for people. I’m a mom of four adult kids and now a grandma, so I’ve been through a lot of different seasons of life myself. Somewhere along the way I started noticing that so many women feel like fashion isn’t “for them” anymore once they reach a certain age. I’ve never believed that and I wanted to create a space where women could walk in, feel comfortable, and rediscover how fun it is to get dressed again.
I opened Season 7 in downtown Leavenworth almost 5 years ago with the goal of making it more than just a boutique. I wanted it to feel welcoming and real, a place where women could find pieces they love and feel confident wearing them. Over time it’s grown into an amazing community both locally and online.
Like most small business owners, the journey has had its share of ups and down, but the relationships with customers and the community we’ve built make it all worth it. Seeing a woman try something on, look in the mirror, and realize she looks amazing never gets old. That’s still my favorite part of what I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutley not! Like most small business owners, it’s definitely been a long and crazy road with a lot of twists and turns. When you own a small business, you wear so many hats. For my boutique I am not just the owner, I’m the buyer, marketer, problem solver, HR director, social media manager, and sometimes even the janitor all in the same day. There’s a lot of learning as you go, and sometimes that learning happens the hard way.
One of the biggest challenges has been figuring things out in real time. Retail is constantly changing, and social media and online sales have become such a big part of running a business. I’ve had to step outside my comfort zone many times and learn skills I never expected to need, from marketing to technology to dancing in front of a camera.
There are also the normal ups and downs that come with running a small business. Slow seasons, inventory decisions, and the pressure of making sure everything keeps moving forward. But those challenges are also what has helped me grow. They’ve made me more resilient and more creative in how I approach the business.
At the end of the day, the hard parts are balanced by the rewarding ones. The relationships I have built with my customers, the community we’ve built, and seeing women feel confident in what they’re wearing makes all of it worth it. Every challenge has just been another part of the journey good and bad.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I own Season 7 Boutique in historic downtown Leavenworth. We’re a women’s clothing and lifestyle boutique that focuses on helping women feel confident and comfortable in what they wear, no matter their age or stage of life. I hand select and curate pieces that are stylish but still wearable for real life. Things you can run errands in, meet friends for lunch in, or dress up a little for date night.
We’re also known for our denim. Finding jeans that fit well can feel impossible for a lot of women, so helping someone find that pair that finally feels right is always a win. Size inclusivity is really important to me too, which is why we carry sizes S–3X and denim 0–24W.
What I’m most proud of, though, is the environment we’ve created. Growing up was hard for me. I moved around a lot and often felt different, like I didn’t quite belong. Because of that, it’s always been important to me that no one who walks into the boutique ever feels that way. I want every person, no matter what stage of life they’re in, to feel like they matter and that they’re beautiful.
At the end of the day, Season 7 isn’t just about clothes. It’s about creating a place where women feel welcomed, encouraged, and a little more confident when they walk out the door than when they walked in.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One thing I’d love readers to know is how much supporting a small business truly means. When someone chooses to shop small, it’s never just a transaction. Every purchase supports a real person, a family, and a dream that someone has worked really hard to build.
For us, it helps keep the lights on, supports our employees, and makes sure we can continue to bring in those fun and unique pieces to the store. But beyond that, it allows us to keep creating a place where people can gather, connect, and feel good about themselves. Small businesses are often the heart of a community, and every time someone chooses to shop local, they’re helping keep those spaces alive.
I never take that support for granted, and I’m incredibly grateful for every person who walks through our doors or shops with us online.
