Today we’d like to introduce you to Amelia Harshfield.
Amelia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am an expander. I love learning about what is on the next level. That means both working on myself and being less impacted by what is occurring around me and growing my assets.
I started to understand that if I acquire the right assets then I can focus on growing while someone else can maintain my accomplishments.
I started with real estate investing. I wanted to purchase properties without needing the 20% down of the purchase price. So I found ways to buy real estate outside of the traditional terms.
As the real estate holdings grew and I was learning from my mistakes, I was also focusing on my reactions. I knew that if I could be less triggered by things going wrong, not getting the responses I wanted, scarcity mindset with money, and more, I knew that I could think more clearly about what was going on.
So I relentlessly learned how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, worked on freeing myself from my trauma, cleared my money mindset, improved my confidence, and expected better for myself.
As my mind got stronger I was able to make better moves financially. Knowing when to sell properties. Knowing what I wanted out of real estate investing, and the numbers I needed to look for. I found myself often looking in places that most people were not looking at.
With both of these tracts up, I have been helping entrepreneurs learn how to become less swayed by things occurring around them so they can make better decisions with their businesses. I’ve even trained high-impact entrepreneurs on Richard Branson’s private island.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My road has not been smooth. I’ve paid a lot of money for horrible advice. A real estate coach told me it would cost $4000 to completely renovate a side of a duplex. So I purchased properties based on that number and learned later on that it was grossly underestimated. It left me stressed out for years financially. From that, I’ve learned how to discern the quality of people’s advice. Lots of people will tell you advice on what they think you should do. The best advice comes from people helping you decide what is best for you.
I also felt quite lost for a long time. Hoping to help people but not sure how. I’ve tried lots of things that “should” work based on personality tests and my interests. What led me to my solution was continually clearing my invisible blocks.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Entrepreneur/Expander.
I specialize in growing the business. I know how to identify opportunities that most people cannot see. I’ve done quite well for myself in that respect. I’m now leaning more into that area of who I am.
One reason I want to continue to expand is once I make enough money, I can use specific businesses to fund social projects I believe in. That way the specific businesses are earning the money regardless of how well the economy is doing. That way the projects can focus on making a difference rather than raising money.
What matters most to you?
Growing in a way that helps everyone. The better I do the more I can help others in a profound way.
Also giving more choices to those who have few.
