We’re looking forward to introducing you to Rich Chungong. Check out our conversation below.
Rich, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think that with many projects involving emerging technology such as web3 technology, and artificial intelligence, many people think that they are overly complex. One of the main focuses for me has how to make complex technology and technical terms more understandable especially for individuals and small businesses in the rapidly advancing digital age.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As a former professional athlete and lifelong gamer, I’ve always thrived in high-stakes environments where strategy, creativity, and execution are everything. Now, I’ve brought that same mindset to the world of emerging tech—building a cutting edge creative agency specializing in Web3, AI, and game development.
At Dash In Between, we fuse innovation, storytelling, and next-gen technology to help our clients craft truly innovative solutions. From immersive gaming worlds with AI avatar integration to using cutting-edge technology for patented medical device creation, or even an AI powered local tour guide for better small business discovery our work pushes boundaries and redefines what’s possible.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Lack of trust/accountability is what breaks bonds between many people especially in this modern age. This is very true today where it is much easier to make empty promises and commitment such as texting or calling at a certain time or attending an online event that may be free. Many of us don’t understand the ways that not following through on these small commitments can affect our self-esteem or how others view you. What restores bonds between people are actionable efforts toward taking accountability when a bond has been broken. This can be viewed as putting yourself in the shoes of the person on the other end by seeing how you the individual can remedy the situation at hand or acknowledging what may have been done to cause an issue.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me that most of the path to what we see as success is where the true reward is not in the end goal. It is the days when you dont feel like it and yet you still show up. When nobody shows up to events, yet you still need to engage with the few that do. Success is not a great teacher because many don’t seek lessons for improvement in good times. On the journey to success, when things are not going your way, you can’t figure out your next move or all odds are stacked against you it’s in that very moment when everything is against you and suffering is at its peak that the greatest ideas manifest when you look for what can be learned in those difficult times. With the proper mindset and a strong enough reason to continue on suffering becomes the necessary soil for you flower of success to bloom.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
The current project I am committed to is our digital farmers market platform Produce Matrix. I am committed to this project because we are currently in uncertain times ranging from economics, nutrition and agriculture. Our food system is extremely fragile and with increasing depence on technology we are moving farther from short supply chains and locally sourced nutrient dense products which is affecting many Americans with issues like chronic disease in both children and elderly population rapidly increasing over the past decades mostly diet related. We need better solutions to allow both our local producers to thrive as the digital economy changes how consumer engage with local vendors while educating consumers on the importance of supporting local and the personal health benefits of locally sourced nutrient dense products.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope that when my time on this earth is done that people tell different stories from their experiences with me on how I was willing to not try and left this place with a empty tank. I would rather that i tried and failed at a bunch of things that to be buried full of potential due to not wanting to risk or explore something new during my finite time here. One of the great quotes I heard was ” What is risk to a spirit in a temporary world.
