Meet Vincent DeMarco of Keys Health Direct Primary Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent DeMarco.

Hi Vincent, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Keys Health DPC with a simple but urgent conviction: patients deserve better. After years of witnessing how insurance bureaucracy and corporate healthcare models erode the doctor-patient relationship, I knew I had to build something different—something principled, personal, and free from the barriers that keep people from getting the care they need.

As a board-certified physician, I’ve seen firsthand how traditional systems prioritize paperwork over people. I wanted to create a space where patients could access their doctor directly, without copays, deductibles, or rushed visits. That’s why I launched Keys Health DPC in Kansas City—a faith-driven, patient-centered clinic built on transparency, trust, and accessibility.

We offer unlimited visits, same-day scheduling, and deeply discounted labs and imaging—all for a flat monthly fee. No insurance middlemen. No surprise bills. Just care that’s clear, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s needs. Our model allows me to spend real time with patients, understand their stories, and walk with them through every stage of their health journey.

Today, Keys Health DPC is more than a clinic—it’s a community. We serve individuals, families, and small businesses who are ready to step away from the noise of corporate medicine and into something more grounded. I’m proud of what we’ve built, and even more excited for what’s ahead.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but it’s been a meaningful one. Starting Keys Health DPC meant navigating a maze of medico-legal hurdles: everything from structuring the practice correctly to ensuring compliance around in-office labs and medication dispensing. There’s a lot that goes into building a clinic from the ground up, especially when you’re committed to doing it ethically and independently.

One of the biggest shifts was going from a high-volume practice—where I managed a panel of 3,100 patients and saw 18 to 22 people a day—to starting from zero. There were days early on when I didn’t see a single patient. That transition from nonstop to silence was jarring at times, but also a blessing. It gave me space to lay a stronger foundation: building relationships with labs and imaging centers, negotiating cash-friendly rates, and designing systems that truly serve patients without the interference of insurance or corporate red tape.

At Keys Health DPC, I wanted to remove the barriers that keep people from getting the care they need. That means no copays, no deductibles, no rushed visits. Just direct access, transparent pricing, and a doctor who knows your name. The road hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has helped shape a practice that’s more personal, more principled, and more patient-centered.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Keys Health DPC is a faith-driven, patient-centered clinic offering direct primary care in Kansas City. We specialize in accessible, ethical healthcare that removes the barriers created by insurance and corporate medicine. Our model is simple: patients pay a flat monthly fee for unlimited visits, direct access to their physician, and deeply discounted labs, imaging, and procedures—all without copays, deductibles, or surprise bills.

What sets us apart is our commitment to serving patients of all financial backgrounds. We’re an especially strong option for individuals with no insurance or high-deductible plans, but we also complement traditional insurance by offering transparent, relationship-based care that insurance simply can’t provide. Whether you’re uninsured, underinsured, or just tired of rushed visits and red tape, we offer a better way.

Our Catholic approach to medicine shapes everything we do. It’s not about preaching—it’s about practicing with integrity, compassion, and respect for human dignity. That means ethical prescribing, honest pricing, and care that honors the whole person.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. Patients know they can reach me directly, get same-day care, and receive treatment that’s both clinically sound and morally grounded. Keys Health DPC isn’t just a clinic—it’s a return to what medicine was meant to be: personal, principled, and patient-first

What does success mean to you?
Success, to me, isn’t just measured in numbers—it’s measured in relationships. It’s about knowing my patients, helping them reach their health goals, and guiding them toward a better trajectory by identifying risks early and walking with them through meaningful change. It’s about spending more time with each person, making sure they feel heard, respected, and cared for.

One of the most affirming parts of this journey has been the rate at which patients are joining Keys Health DPC. We’ve been growing much faster than expected, and that’s deeply rewarding—not just because it validates the model, but because it tells me this is what people are looking for. Patients are ready for something different: care that’s personal, transparent, and free from the barriers of insurance and corporate medicine.

Personally, success also means being present with my family. In my previous role, I often left work at 6 or 7 PM, barely making it home in time to say goodnight to my kids. Now, it’s rare for me to miss dinner. I get to play with them before and after meals, and those moments are priceless. I’ve also been able to be more involved at my parish, St. Margaret of Scotland in Lee’s Summit, which has deepened my faith and community ties.

Success isn’t just about building a practice—it’s about building a life that reflects my values. At Keys Health DPC, I’ve been blessed to do both.
