Meet Victoria Weddle and Danyell Brown of Modern Arc Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Weddle and Danyell Brown. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Victoria Weddle

Modern Arc Wellness was founded by two best friends, Victoria Weddle, and Danyell Brown.

We met over 10 years ago while studying psychology at Northwest Missouri State University. After becoming roommates, attending graduate school together, and specializing in different areas initially, our paths continued to cross in our work and personal lives. After many highs and lows on our journeys, experiencing the void in conversation, support, and resources readily available to women, we realized there was something we could do! We created Modern Arc to collaborate and bridge the gap in women’s treatment that we had continued to see along our journeys. Today we are dedicated to helping women overcome their challenges and make changes to lead their best lives. A significant part of our practice focuses on helping women and their partners overcome challenges on their family-building and parenting journey. In addition to offering support for reproductive mental health, we aim to help women with various mental health concerns, including work-life balance and transitions, low self-esteem, stress and mood issues, relationship difficulties, trauma recovery, and more!

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a journey! Like any new business, there have been many things we’ve learned along the way. Most of the feedback we’ve received is about how much our resources and services are needed, yet our biggest challenge has been letting people know we exist. We are in no way marketing experts, but building relationships with others alike within this small community has been our haven and has created a sense of belonging.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Modern Arc Wellness?
Modern Arc Wellness is a group of trauma-informed and client-centered practitioners who aim to empower and support the individual needs of our clients. We started as two mental health therapists and have recently added a Licensed Massage Therapist to our team! Our goal is to continue to grow and add more wellness individuals to offer women a “one-stop shop” for all things wellness and healing. A special offer we are proud to provide is a complimentary 20-30 minute mental health check-up via telehealth for parents within the first 12 weeks after birth. This appointment consists of a mini-assessment of how a parent copes with adding a new baby. We aim to ensure the parent knows where to go if they’re not feeling like themselves, need extra support, and connect them with additional resources they may need.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Modern Arc Wellness within itself was a huge risk. We opened up a practice within a market full of other practices, specializing in a low-awareness population. Women’s health is now starting to be acknowledged after being advocated for, for so long. Our practice was created to become a collective of individual practitioners working on the same mission, and we look forward to seeing what is to come for Modern Arc.

Pricing:

  • Modern Arc Wellness accepts various payment methods for mental health therapy, including self-pay, HSA/FSA, and some insurance plans, including Aetna, Optum, Cigna, and United Health Care.
