Meet Tim Petet of Gladstone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Petet.

Hi Tim, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After seven years in my last corporate engineering position, a layoff pushed me to rethink what I to do for a living.

Instead of jumping into another corporate role, I started Ninja-360, a Kansas City–based digital media company focused on drone photography, 360° virtual tours, and visual storytelling. I want to help small business in my area.

Now I work with small businesses to give them the kind of Marketing usually reserved for big brands, but with more personality and authenticity.

It’s the most fulfilling work I’ve done: collaborating with other entrepreneurs, capturing their vision, and telling their story through my lens and in their social media feeds.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Leaving a stable tech job to start over meant trading predictability for a lot of uncertainty. There were stretches where I was rebuilding from scratch: finding clients, learning new tools, and figuring out how to run a business while still trying to do good creative work.

I’ve had slow months, projects fall through, and plenty of trial and error on pricing, process, and positioning. But those challenges forced me to get sharper about who I serve and how I show up. That’s how I ended up focused on small businesses here in Kansas City, helping them tell their story with visuals that feel real and earned.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
With Ninja-360, I focus on drone photography, 360° virtual tours, and visual content that helps Kansas City businesses show off their space and their story. Most of my work is for local restaurants, venues, real estate, and small brands that want people to get a feel for the place before they ever walk through the door.

I’m known for clean, detailed visuals and actually taking the time to understand what matters to the owner before I start shooting. What I’m most proud of is when clients tell me, “People came in because they saw the photos or the tour.” That’s what sets me apart: it’s not just about cool shots, it’s about creating visuals that actually help their business grow.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is helping local small businesses be seen clearly and honestly. When a small business owner looks at a photo or virtual tour and says, “That’s us,” that’s the moment I care about.

I built Ninja-360 because I kept seeing great Kansas City spots buried online behind bad visuals or outdated content. My focus is simple: create images and tours that actually match the effort they put into their work. If my work helps more people find them, visit them, and support them, that’s a win.
