Meet Sydney Vinson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Vinson.

Hi Sydney, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Topeka, Kansas. Now establishing roots in Kansas City with my beautiful daughter Sa’Niya. Working on building a business and a legacy… My mother actually inspired me to become a designer, “she always said that if I want to become a designer, I need to learn how to sew.” I later was an intern with her company at Jades Designs in Topeka, Kansas. With encouragement and support from my family, I attended the University Of Hawaii to study and attain my degree in Business and Fashion Technology. Fast forward to 2021, I now live in Kansas City, Missouri. I work from my home as a designer and stylist. My mom and I have combined businesses. So all of the custom designs and clothing construction and embroidery come from the Jade’s Designs side of the house then personal styling/shopping and closet design as well as alterations are on the style house side. We specialize in bridal and special occasion wear as well as bridal styling, event styling, personal shopping and revamping your closet along with a cleanse. In this past year, we have taken time to rebrand our company and make a name for ourself here in Kansas City. We have a lot to come in the near future.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not smooth road due to COVID-19 we were forced to close both of our stores in Topeka Kansas. We are now back at home to find a better space in the Kansas City area. With over 30 machines, we are looking to provide a space for Kansas City designers and creatives who do not have access to machines materials, etc., to create in a safe place and produce.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are clothing designers and fashion stylists. Mother and Daughter Partnership Pamela Vinson and Sydney Vinson.
