Meet Summer Echo of Traveler’s Hearth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Echo.

Hi Summer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. When I was a kid, I was constantly starting little businesses — selling crafts, baked goods, and anything I could dream up. At one point, my mom joked that the neighbors were going to start locking their doors when they saw me coming because I was always knocking with my latest creation in hand. I saved up all my profits one summer and bought a book called Better Than a Lemonade Stand, a guide to entrepreneurial ideas for kids. I read it cover to cover multiple times before I started fourth grade, and it lit a fire in me that never went out.
But life took me down some hard roads, and for many years, the path wasn’t easy. I experienced challenges that shaped me deeply — but through it all, I stayed hungry for knowledge and healing. I read voraciously, learned everything I could, and held onto the belief that one day I would use what I’d learned to help others.
In the last decase, that vision became real. I began working as a healer, herbalist, and life coach, helping people reconnect to themselves and rediscover their joy. Healing taught me that community is essential — that we’re not meant to grow or heal alone. I started hosting gatherings at my home, where friends and neighbors would come together to share food, stories, and seasonal celebrations. Those nights were magic, and they showed me how deeply people crave connection, ritual, and belonging.
Traveler’s Hearth was born from that desire — to take the warmth of those gatherings and extend it beyond my living room walls. My partner, Brandon, has an incredible gift for uncovering beauty in the most unexpected places, and together we created a space that reflects both of our hearts: a home for healing, joyful community, connection, discovery, and beauty.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it’s definitely not been a smooth road! In some ways, yes — everything came together in perfect timing — but in other ways, there was huge spiritual pushback, almost as if the universe was asking, “Are you sure you really want this?”

I remember standing in our half-constructed space with tears streaming down my face, shouting, “Yes! I want this!” But that’s what it takes to build something worthwhile, something that can make a lasting difference — that kind of unshakable confidence that says, I believe in myself. I believe in this vision. I believe in my community.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Traveler’s Hearth is a cozy, wellness shop and tea bar dedicated to connection, healing, and community. We offer handcrafted herbal teas, mood-enhancing tonics, and an ever-changing collection of vintage curiosities and treasures — alongside tarot readings, life coaching, seasonal workshops, and weekly events.
It’s a space where people can slow down, feel seen, and reconnect with themselves and each other. Every detail, from the herbs in your cup to the crystals on the shelf, is chosen to create a sense of warmth and belonging.
Our tonics are one of the most special things about Traveler’s Hearth. Crafted with sacred and deeply powerful herbs like Damiana, Blue Lotus, and Kanna, they’re designed to enhance mood, awaken the senses, and open the heart. Each blend offers something different — from deep calm and connection to uplifted energy and creative fire.
These botanical elixirs have allowed us to create something truly unique — an alcohol-free space where people can gather, celebrate, and connect consciously. We’ve even expanded into a mobile mood bar, bringing our signature tonics to festivals, weddings, and private events. It’s a way to elevate any occasion with drinks that are not only sober-friendly, but also deeply transformative — helping people experience connection, celebration, and presence in an entirely new way.
The thing I hear the most often when people walk in the door is, “It’s so beautiful,” and “We need this here.” Because we do! We need more quiet beauty, more slow afternoons, more purposeful soul-level connection, and that’s exactly what Traveler’s Hearth facilitates.

What makes you happy?
That’s such a great question! It’s something I think about all the time, actually. It’s also a homework assignment I often give my clients — to make a list of things that make them happy, going back as far into childhood as they can remember, and to keep adding to it daily. Because knowing and connecting with what brings you joy sets you on the energetic frequency of your highest purpose.

Some of the things on my own list? Moonlit runs, children’s laughter, quiet days in my kitchen, and sun-soaked earth I can dig my hands into. Any kind of running water — streams, rivers, creeks — brings me peace. Writing, theatre, singing, giving and receiving love, good smells, and good food. Dreaming, planning, and creating make me feel alive, and a good story (no matter how it’s told).

Happiness, to me, is the practice of noticing — the sacred art of paying attention to the things that make life beautiful.
