Meet Shon King

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, of course. There has been ups and downs with trying to get my platforms known and because of covid, I had to stop cooking and modeling, then also due to life happenings, I had to slow down. However, I was able to pick things right back up again and hopefully people will come to know my platforms.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, with Shonda’s Cravings, I specialize in creating home-cooked meals for those who have a taste for something special or if you just don’t have the time in the day to cook. I also sometimes cook for shut-ins and the elderly. Just to see a smile on somebody’s face when I cook for them and they enjoy my food is all that I need sometimes.

As for modeling and being a creative director I seek to inspire, because I love and enjoy doing for others. I want to instill the confidence into women that look like me and grow a love for themselves they have never felt before. Learning to create art with my body made me feel good about myself and to encourage myself and know that no matter how I looked, I can be out there in front of that camera and show it all if I wanted to or not without judgment. This is why I wanted to start a platform where I can help to encourage others to show their plus size style, show their personality, show the world to love them just as much as they love themselves in the clothes that they wear or just their bodies period. So this is why I love working behind the scenes and creating opportunities for plus-size women to model. I made a platform that does just that, we create calendars , magazines , or just anything in print which intern is inspiring plus size women to get out there and be in front of that camera and feel good about their bodies so please check us out at Peach Couture Forum on Instagram.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a young child, I was very timid and reserved, but as a teenager, I became loud and eccentric but also did not want to be part of the popular crowd. I had a few of my favorite people that I kept around me all the time did not want to be popular; I just wanted people around me that I could trust and love me back at the end of the day I’m a very been kind-hearted person who’s just full of love and want to share it with those who deserve it
