Meet Sam Simons of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Simons.

Hi Sam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Congolese-American artist born in Los Angeles and grew up in Kansas City. I started off hosting concerts and writing for magazines. I quit sports because it was time for something greater in my purpose. Fashion and music were my interests, and things grew from there. I graduated school and moved to LA for an internship. The artists I was around like 03 Greedo, Foolie, and 12 Hunna shaped a lot for me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy, but worth it. The biggest issues I faced was doing all of this so young, but it was necessary and shaped me. Whether it was family not understanding I’m meant for this, friends faking, or me not taking myself seriously to the level in which I needed. It was difficult, but I’ve been growing as a man this entire time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m known as a jack of all trades in my city. I design clothes, model, specialize in photography, but now I’m in my final form as an artist and that means making music. I convey real life aspects and I love to harmonize – make the people feel real raw emotion in my music.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Artistry comes deep and a lot of people don’t understand or cherish that. I don’t work with just anybody. If we cross paths and meet, and you come off as genuine in my eyes, we’ll work. Too many people force collaborations wasting their time.
