Meet Roman Khachaturyan of Dva Percent

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roman Khachaturyan. 

Hi Roman, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have been collecting shoes for 19 years. It has always been a passion of mine. I started with a small location that was located next to the post office on Westport Rd. I started out with only 20 pairs of shoes. Fast forward to June of 2021 and we quickly outgrew our small location and had to move around the corner to 4035 Broadway Blvd. (next to freaks tattoo). We now have over 2000 shoes at any given time. This makes our store the largest sneaker store in Kansas City. I truly enjoy coming to work and meeting new people every day. My business does not feel like work. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
A year into business, we were hit with COVID. During COVID we turned to online sales and starting selling via Instagram live. This really helped our Instagram grow a strong following.

We specialize in sneakers and streetwear clothing. We are known for having the best prices on sneakers, brought to you by the best customer service. We want every customer that walks into our store to feel like they are comfortable and can hang out. Our reviews speak for themselves. 

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Best – Kansas City has a big city feel but is just small enough where everyone knows each other. 

Least – Local businesses don’t work together and support each other. This is very different than I have experienced in other cities.
