Today we’d like to introduce you to Phillip Wandix.

Phillip Wandix

Hi Phillip, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After spending ten years as a social worker with roles in juvenile justice, child welfare, foster care case management, and support services for individuals with disabilities, I chose to step back from the field in an effort to establish a more sustainable work life balance. I transitioned into healthcare services both as management in medical staffing and as a certified nursing assistant, as I’ve always felt an Innate duty to support those in need any way I am able. However after five years of long term care, I realized the combined 15 years of emotional and mental exhaustion of sincere dedication to the well being of so many others’ lives had left me without the fortitude when with my family to provide the presence they deserved from me. So I stepped back much further, choosing gig work as my source of income and focusing priority on presenting my family both time and emotional availability. The intention of my efforts though, I came to realize in this method of generating income, was not being achieved to the level for which I aimed. It was in this moment I found the courage in my wife and children to overcome my inhibition from the fear of uncertainty and failure. That a chance perceivable is worth any risk possible, Thus I started the business to build sustainability, to build time, to build peace of mind, to build a sense of security and opportunity.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s not been a smooth road, financial hardship has put a weight on my shoulders with the already present burden of trying to build a business while learning how to build a business, while trying to learn and optimize SEO, while trying to maintain enough income to both keep the bills paid and maintaining my wife and children’s general routines, accustomed activities and recreational norms.

As you know, we’re big fans of WeAssure Biometrics and Screening Services . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My humble business WeAssure Biometrics and Screening Services provides mobile & on site drug & alcohol testing and ink fingerprinting. We proudly offer Federally certified drug and breath alcohol testing, compliant for the industries under the Department of Transportation’s code of regulations, which is the primary service I want to provide and the purpose for which I started the business. In addition we provide testing for employers, probation, government benefits, vendor credentialing and personal; we tailor the service to the client’s needs. I also have a second business, WeScribe Official Signature Services for notary and marriage license officiation. That business is a DBA of Weassure Biometrics and Screening Services LLC. What sets both of them apart from the other businesses providing like services is that I do not base my service costs on other providers’ rates or how much I could charge based on market norms. I do not use situational circumstances as an opportunity to inflate the price of my services because of what others implement to take greater profits. I charge less than competitors based on what I feel is reasonable and fair so I can feel confident in having an honest and truly supportive business. I have no travel fees for any distance less than 20 miles, I offer higher value by including customer centered conveniences, for example, for less than the price others charge for mobile fingerprinting a single card, I provide two cards standard and include a 9×12 envelope with postage covering up to 3 oz, and custom printed addressee and return labels. My hope is to give clients the opportunity to receive services without risk of being taken advantage of. In the same sentiment, WeScribe Official Signature Services uniquely provides married contract officiant service completely free of charge, as love is something to be rejoiced, not an opportunity to be capitalized on by charging those to be wed $75 to $150 for a service so simple and in celebration of two people being given in each other a gift so priceless. I also do not charge for signatures as a Notary nor tac on fees to profit from an individuals circumstance or urgency. I only charge for distance and duration, and to date I’ve yet to request payment for the unburdensome notary services I’ve provided thus far.
