Meet Nina Lewis of South

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Lewis.

Hi Nina; we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Absolutely, I never shy away from the opportunity to give my testimony.

So here is a sad but fact, there are a lot of young urban girls who grow up without ever having anyone around them to support their dreams, aspirations, or just the sheer desire to be more than a generational curse.

Regardless of my today, my yesterday has some of the same residue as I am one of those young girls. I remember having so much life in me, I truly desired to be greater than my circumstances. Unfortunately, I didn’t have anyone to pour into my dreams or even support my what if’s. So, because of that I hit a lot of unnecessary stumbling blocks and some of my what if’s were never discovered.

My main directive is to spread love to as many young people as I can, everyday! If I can help it, they will never go a day without knowing they are bigger than anything life throws their way! I want them to know that they can overcome and become whoever and whatever they want!

This is done intentionally and purposely on a daily, through my podcast Nina’s Random Corner, and on all of my social media platforms. I am a Motivational Hype Woman! My primary goal is to be a part of the solution needed in the world, not a casualty or victim.

Would it have been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Trying to stand out on social media in the microwave cultural we’ve become, (quick, fast, and low in substance) is a challenging task.

So many people are in it for clicks, likes, and follows; it is sometimes hard to tell who truly cares about you verses who just wants your money. If I were spreading gossip or the latest in celebrity news, (with this personality) I would be a hit. However, that truly is not my thing. I like to speak positively and talk about self-development. I encourage you to look at yourself before judging others; and that’s not always the people’s choice.

Upon glance of my social media platforms, I don’t have a lot of followers or likes, however I receive over 40k impressions and interactions monthly. That alone encourages me to keep going because I am helping someone out there.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known to equalize a room! I specialize in helping center conversations, redirect mindsets, and create safe places to learn and be yourself unapologetically. I exemplify a high level of empathy towards other with an even balance of I love who you are, and can’t wait to see who you become.

My mindset and ability to see a good thing even when no one else can, helps me stand up and out in the crowd.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting?
Just be you! The world does not need another Maya Angelou, Michelle Obama, or Oprah Winfrey. They need you! I have never felt so alive and unapologetically myself in my entire life!

I tried so hard to create a sound that mimicked what I thought other motivators were using, and it never came out right.

When I started using my God given voice, my God given gifts, my edgy but gothic style God given style, I truly started living.

Now I just keep practicing, and perfecting.
