Meet Nescelle Caberto of Overland Park, KS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nescelle Caberto.

Hi Nescelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been fascinated with purpose. Ever since I can remember whenever I asked myself “What’s my purpose?” the answer has always been ‘to learn’’. And if I were to do something with my life, it would be to bridge the mind, body, spirit. Looking back I wanted to experience going to college. I didn’t declare a major, until I had to, by my 3rd year. I just took classes I enjoyed and it turned out to be a majority of Psychology courses, Sociology then Communication. It evolved to a major in interdisciplinary studies. How the mind works – people, society, in the support of understanding me, myself in figuring out how I fit into this world.

Understanding the body didn’t come into play until after a few years after college, during a time I was figuring out jobs and a career. Funny, when I was in high school the Massage school that visited, called me and was wondering if I was still interested or if it was time to cross me off their list. Massage was always in the back burner so I immediately said yes. I started the program. I’ve been a massage therapist for 14 years. I expanded my knowledge with skincare and I’ve been an esthetician for 10.

The spirit, soul… I believe that is our intuitive voice, it nudges in my gut that reminds me of my path and where I get to explore. It wasn’t until attending a leadership & emotional intelligence program that I realized I was holding onto things that were never mine. The experiential learning experience had me leaving so much lighter, with a different mind set, and removed the blocks I never knew I had.

From there, my vision became to end violence, the violence within ourselves (what foresight in my head), violence against women, violence against each other, and all sentient beings.
That grew into creating a space of love and understanding to create peace in the world. Where the ones before made me feel like I mattered I hope to do the same for others.

That experience led me to be trained in ontological coaching and breathwork.

You may find me during a session releasing pain, validating something a client has been pondering about or resisting, or realigning the body to improve one’s well being.

I am grateful for where I’m at. And I’m excited for what’s ahead for myself in exploration, growth, and the people and clients I get to collaborate with on their journeys.

Long story short, I hone in my craft at Life Spa as an employee and able to build entrepreneurially.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road… there have been challenges yes, and life. Looking back it all seems to be minute. The struggles have always been getting myself out of my own way and the journey of listening to my body and being patient, learning that rest is also productive. (At one point I was healing for three months, no pay) There’s a saying or motto in Italian “Il dolce far niente” – the sweetness of doing nothing. And in that is the space, the power of being present in presence.

I have no regrets. Everything I’ve experienced has led me to this point.

When it comes to business and self growth it’s been learning to follow my instincts and in that process of trusting myself. Now I’m a bit quicker at recognizing it, meandering in it and taking action.
That was a major realization – to trust myself. There’s no self trust without self belief. Others, strangers and friends believed in me more than I believed in myself. They saw something in me that I was blinded to. There was a lot of chipping away the doubt and fears and the imposter syndrome.

Oh and another thing on business is taking the leap from a linear income to the unknown. Passion brings abundance, including financial when the heart is involved and intentional purpose in the work is one.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a massage therapist, esthetician, breathworker, and life coach. At the moment I’m honed in on spa work, mainly body work. And that body work has trickled down into my facial techniques, incorporating a good dose of facial massage in my facials.

If I can sum up in one word from my clients feedbacks I would say my work is transformative. They’re always feeling better.

I recently completed a buccal (cheek muscle) massage course. And plan on taking a full face lifting class. We have 42 muscles in our face. If we don’t use it, we lose it. Besides tension that can be held there, it could also be emotional. I’m attracted to the powerful work that can be done.

-What are you most proud of?
-What sets you apart from others?

I’m not your typical massage therapist following a routine pattern.
My clients have shared with me that it’s more than that.
There’s an intuitive nature to my touch.

I feel seen and my work reflects it when I receive feedback from clients.
World travelers who receive massages regularly have shared its the best massage they’ve ever had. And just this week a client thanked me. “Thank you for making me feel cared for.” Without me knowing what she was going through in her life and she’s had massages, this one with me was what she needed.

In my profession as a massage therapist the greatest achievement is to be in alignment with a clients goal and I strive to hit that mark in every session.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was bold as a toddler, then I became shy and if you were close to me you’d see a sassy side. I have two brothers, I’m in the middle, and had overprotective parents and all this mentally prepped me for the real world. I grew up in LA and we moved to Kansas City when I was in middle school, a culture shock for sure. I was kind of friends with everybody and found my family in playing rugby. It gave me the heart to physically challenge myself, breakthrough every limit. I’m pretty petite and I was the last line of defense, took me awhile to fit that position to conquer every tackle.

When I can be disciplined in the physical I’ll be able to create in all the domains in my life. I get to own that and start practicing. I recently started working out again and invested in a fitness coach. I can’t do what I do, be a role model for my clients and walk the walk, if I don’t take care of myself fully.
