Hi Mimi, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Music and performing have been a part of my life since I was five years old, beginning in church and continuing through stage plays as I grew up. One production that has always stayed with me is “Im Worth Waiting For” Produced By: Pat Pearl, a play that encouraged young people to practice abstinence and recognize their value. In my adult years, I starred in “Hollywood The Musical”, Produced by Eljay Williams and performed at Kansas City’s historic Folly Theater. Today, I’m signed with the Next Paige Talent Agency and have grown into a International performing artist, Key Partner, and Project Ambassador for Project 17, led by AY Young. Through the Battery Tour, I’ve had the blessing of performing around the world while using music to bring awareness to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
My passion for inspiring others goes far beyond the stage. Since childhood and throughout my adult life, I have worked with young people ranging from infants to highschool students, always encouraging them to believe in themselves and reach their highest potential. I even have a published affirmation created especially for children & everyone around the World!

Now baby, this journey has definitely not been a straight shot. It has come with battles, setbacks, sacrifices, and plenty of long nights, but every experience has helped shape the woman and artist I am today. Through it all, my faith, purpose, and love for people continue to push me forward as I use my God given gifts to spread light, inspire growth, and help change the world one interaction at a time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has definitely not been a smooth or straight road. For years, I battled alcohol addiction, along with distractions, self doubt, and choices that sometimes pulled me away from my purpose. There were opportunities I was not fully prepared to receive and seasons when I knew I was gifted but did not always have the clarity, discipline, or confidence to give my music everything it deserved. Behind the performances and big smile were many long nights, private battles, and moments when I had to decide whether I was going to remain stuck or fight for the life I knew God had for me.
Choosing sobriety changed everything. Now, five years sober, I can look back with gratitude because every challenge helped me discover my strength, deepen my faith, and reconnect with my purpose. Sobriety did not magically make life perfect, but it gave me the clarity to show up for myself, my music, and the people I am called to inspire. Today, I am no longer allowing my past to disqualify me. I use it as proof that transformation is possible, and I continue moving forward with intention, knowing that my story and my voice can help someone else choose themselves too.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an all around creative, but singing and uplifting others are truly at the heart of everything I do. I am known for my voice, my energy, and the positivity I bring into a room, whether I am performing onstage, writing music, acting, working with young people, or simply having a conversation. That does not mean I never have difficult moments, because baby, I am human! Positivity is my core because I have been through hell and gained the perspective to understand that even our hardest experiences can teach us, strengthen us, and give us something meaningful to share with others.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just perform for people. I connect with them. My artistry is rooted in real life, faith, reciliece, love, and purpose, so when I sing, I want people to feel seen, encouraged, and reminded of their own power. I am most proud of my unreleased original song, “The World Will Sing”, which will most likely be released in 2027. The song represents the heart of who I am as an artist and my belief in using music to unite, inspire, and create positive change. My voice may be my instrument, but the light, truth, and intention behind it are what truly make me Mimi Nichole.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I believe the music industry will continue changing rapidly through technology, artificial intelligence, social media, and new ways for independent artists to create, release, and promote their work. Artists will have more opportunities to build direct relationships with their audiences without relying completely on traditional industry systems. At the same time, staying authentic will become even more important because people will continue craving real voices, real stories, and genuine human connection.
With these changes will come plenty of learning curves, but I see them as opportunities to grow. I want to keep learning the business side of music, including ownership, publishing, marketing, technology, and protecting my creative work, so I can navigate the industry with knowledge instead of fear. No matter how the industry evolves, I believe artists who are willing to adapt while remaining true to their purpose will continue to thrive. For me, the tools may change, but the mission will remain the same; use my voice, spread positivity, connect with people, and create music that leaves the world a little brighter.
