Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Klinksick.
Hi Madison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Small-town raised in the heart of Midwest Missouri, I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved the creativity of capturing people, places, and those fleeting little moments that make life feel full. My cousin was a senior in high school and my Aunt took a chance on me, and here we are—and it’s a dream come true.
Outside of photography, I have a deep-rooted love for the western lifestyle and have what may be arguably more horses than I probably need! Barrel racing, trail rides, and quiet moments in the pasture fill my soul—and honestly, photographing my horses is where this whole journey began. That’s where I first fell in love with storytelling through imagery—and I’ve been chasing it ever since.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Photography has been a learning process! There is SO much more than just pointing and shooting that goes into making a beautiful image. It hasn’t always been easy. I started out not knowing much about the business side of things—how to price myself fairly, how to attract the right clients, or even how to create a smooth workflow. I additionally work a full time job outside of photography and it can be very hard to balance work and personal life, but I know that I have a dream that I’m chasing. There were definitely times I felt overwhelmed or discouraged. But I’ve learned that the hard days are part of the process, and they make the wins so much sweeter. I wouldn’t trade those struggles, because they’ve given me grit and perspective.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a portrait and lifestyle photographer specializing in seniors, couples, and the western lifestyle. I’m most proud of creating an experience that feels genuine and down-to-earth, much like the western lifestyle I grew up in. Out here, life has its own rhythm—slow evenings, open skies, and the kind of grit and grace that come from small-town living. I want my photos to reflect that same spirit: natural, timeless, and full of heart.
What sets me apart is the way I weave my western roots into everything I do. My sessions carry that laid-back, small-town feel where people can relax and be themselves, but the final galleries still have a polished, modern look. I love capturing the little details—muddy boots after a walk through the pasture, the wind catching someone’s hair, or the quiet in-between moments that often end up being the most meaningful.
At the end of the day, I don’t just take photos—I preserve memories with the same warmth, honesty, and authenticity that define the western way of life. That’s what I’m most proud of, and it’s what makes my work feel like home.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been truly blessed with the people who have supported me along the way. My family and friends have always been my biggest cheerleaders, encouraging me to chase this dream even when it felt risky or uncertain.
I’ve also had incredible clients who believed in me from the very beginning. Their trust and word-of-mouth support have played such a huge role in growing my business. Every time someone recommends me or comes back for another session, it feels like the greatest compliment I could ever receive.
Along the way, I’ve also been inspired by other photographers and creatives in the western industry. Their willingness to share advice, cheer each other on, and build each other up has been such a motivator for me.
At the end of the day, it truly takes a village—and there are far too many to name. I couldn’t do what I do without the love, encouragement, and trust of the people who continue to stand behind me.
