Meet Lindsey Nhingsavath of CTRL Creative Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Nhingsavath.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I didn’t originally set out to start a creative agency. I was on a completely different path — I was in med school with the goal of becoming a surgeon. Then COVID hit, and like it did for a lot of people, it forced everything to pause. I had to take a hiatus, and for the first time I really had space to reassess where my skills, energy, and creativity were actually meant to go.

Luckily, I had double majored, so while medicine was on hold, my business foundation wasn’t. I leaned into the skill set I had been using on the side for years — content creation, branding, photography, and digital strategy — and started helping businesses show up online in a more intentional way. What began as “just helping out” quickly turned into real results: stronger brands, better engagement, and actual growth.

From there, things evolved naturally. I realized I wasn’t just creating content — I was building systems, shaping brand identities, and helping businesses take control of how they’re seen. That’s when CTRL Creative Agency was born. The agency is rooted in both sides of my background: the discipline, structure, and precision I learned in medicine, paired with creativity, storytelling, and strategy from business and content creation.

Today, CTRL Creative Agency helps brands take control of their digital presence through strategy-first content, creative direction, and growth-focused marketing. What started as a pivot turned into purpose — and now I get to build brands with intention, clarity, and impact every single day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve been doing photography since I was 16, back in high school, and it was my first and primary creative skill. As I started working with marketing agencies and businesses, I quickly realized that photography alone wasn’t enough. To truly give strong creative direction and bring bigger ideas to life, I needed to understand videography as well. So I learned it — not just to add another service, but to expand how I could create, communicate, and lead visually.

As I continued building businesses and creating for others, I found myself constantly falling in and out of creative ruts. I was burning myself out trying to balance entrepreneurship with personal creativity, often pouring everything into client work and leaving little space to create for myself. That tension taught me a lot — about sustainability, balance, and the importance of building systems that support creativity instead of draining it.

That realization became a major part of how I now approach my work and why CTRL Creative Agency is built the way it is: intentional, strategic, and designed to protect both the business and the creative behind it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
CTRL Creative Agency is a strategy-first creative agency built for brands that want intention, consistency, and real growth — not just content for the sake of posting. Because of my background in both business and creative production, we bridge the gap that many agencies miss: we understand how brands need to look, but also how they need to perform.

How do you define success?
I define success by how many people I can help with what I have — my skills, my knowledge, my creativity, and my time. Growth, numbers, and recognition matter, but they’re secondary. What matters most is impact. If what I’m building allows other businesses and creatives to gain clarity, confidence, and control over their future, then I’m doing exactly what I set out to do.

Success, to me, is creating something that extends beyond myself and continues to add value long after the work is done.
