Meet Laurence Hogg of Jefferson City, Mo 65109

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurence Hogg.

Hi Laurence, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fly Faster Fashion House is a product of a hobby turned into passion. I have always had knack for style and fashion. Years of thrifting looking for the next hidden jewel turned into a small brick and mortar in a college town. November of 2024 I was able to open up the doors to a literal dream. Watching my young friend Brandon Hunt open up New True Clothing store inspired me to do the same. Fly Faster is a retail clothing store with new and used clothing specializing in vintage. I enjoy sharing my love of secondhand items with my patrons and helping them find their own fly. The name of my business stems from others respecting others style presentation. My tag line is “I see your style but you can FLY FASTER!!’ Wearing vintage is a way to express yourself with confidence no one will come close to looking the same. Next time you are in Jefferson City please stop by 1127 E Dunklin to purchase your next favorite classic piece.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has been an interesting journey of ups and downs. My first stab at entrepreneurship and I have learned a lot about myself and business along the way. The small business development center located on the campus of Lincoln University has been very instrumental of setting my foundation to build on. The SBDC is a grant funded office who will assist prospective business owners in all aspects of set up. I would tell anyone looking to go for it and ask for the Director Ms. Carter.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
There is an aspect of creativity in every outfit I wear. I am able to express how I feel and give you personality in every outfit I put on. Wearing the latest more expensive brands is an easy way to be fashionable. Using vintage or old clothes allows me to be an artist in a sense because there is no end to your creativity. Sustainable styling is the new culture, and it is here to stay.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned that it is possible. I have heard all my life “you can do anything you want”
Now in 2025/26 I urge anyone that has a goal or a dream to do something its time and to go for it. They say plan your work and work your plan
