Meet Laura Wolf of Olathe, KS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Wolf.

Hi Laura, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a Feminine Embodiment Coach, Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator, and the founder of the WildWoman Experience — a four-day immersive retreat for women, held in nature, designed to help women reconnect deeply with our bodies, awaken our power, and remember the ancient wisdom of Mother Earth. I also lead sensual embodiment retreats and women’s circles devoted to healing, empowerment, and liberation.

This path chose me because, like many of the women I now serve, I had deep healing to do. My journey began with a desperate need to free myself from depression, anxiety, codependency, childhood wounding, low self-worth, and dysfunctional relationship patterns.

Throughout my twenties, I struggled deeply, often choosing partners who mirrored my pain — chaotic relationships with emotionally unavailable men battling addiction. In my early thirties, I met my son’s father, who had five years of sobriety when we began dating. But after our son was born, he began relapsing. I was terrified. I remember asking myself, “How am I going to raise a child with someone who’s actively using?”

That moment cracked me open. I realized I couldn’t keep repeating these painful patterns — not for myself, and not for my son. I became fiercely committed to healing, not just surviving. I began learning how to truly love myself. I dove deep into the work: healing childhood trauma, facing my shadows, strengthening my connection with Source, and uncovering my soul’s purpose.

In 2007, I began facilitating Shamanic Breathwork and supporting others in their healing journeys — helping them release trauma, rewrite limiting beliefs, reconnect with Spirit, and remember their innate worth and power.

But by 2016, I was completely burnt out. As a single mother and solo entrepreneur, I was constantly in motion — leading retreats, seeing clients, managing my home, attending soccer games, helping with homework, and staying up late studying business strategies. I worked tirelessly, often on my laptop past midnight, wired and unable to sleep. My body was anxious, my immune system was shot, and my libido had all but vanished.

I realized I was living entirely in my masculine energy — always doing, producing, and pushing forward.
While masculine (yang) energy is vital for structure and momentum, when a woman operates from this place nonstop, it drains her life force. We become depleted, stressed, and disconnected from our feminine essence — the very source of our radiance, creativity, sensuality, and intuition.

And here’s the truth: it’s biologically hard to feel turned on, inspired, or magnetic when we’re running on empty. My body finally said no. I was forced to listen.

My naturopath looked at my labs and said, “You’re completely burnt out. You’ve been running on adrenaline for too long — it’s taking a serious toll.” And she was right. Something had to change.
That health crisis in my early 40s was a sacred turning point. I turned inward and began re-learning how to live — not from force, but from flow. I joined women’s circles, studied the feminine energy system, and began practicing simple yet powerful rituals to soothe my nervous system, soften into my feminine, and awaken my life force energy.

Slowly, everything shifted.

My energy returned. My libido came back. I stopped trying to control and force outcomes through the sheer will of my masculine. I began aligning with my soul, honoring my body, and trusting the divine rhythm of life. Now, I do less — and receive more. I feel more alive, more turned on, more in love with life than ever before.

This is the gift I now share with other women: the permission to slow down, soften, and reconnect with the deep wisdom of the feminine. You don’t have to hustle to prove your worth. You don’t have to stay stuck in old patterns of self-abandonment or burnout.

There is another way — one that is softer, wiser, more sustainable, and so much more pleasurable. I’ve lived it. I’ve witnessed it. And I’m here to walk beside women on the journey home to our bodies and our innate wisdom.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
(I think I answered this one in the previous question.)

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What is the name of your business or organization? Laura Wolf and Shaman’s Heart Sanctuary

I am a Feminine Embodiment Coach and I lead sensual embodiment retreats for women. My mission is to guide women in reconnecting with their bodies, allowing them to release stress, tension, anxiety, numbness, fear, old stories and other barriers to pleasure. Through this process, they can rediscover their vitality, and feel sexy, energized, and alive again – ultimately creating more love, abundance, ease, and joy in their lives.

What sets you apart from others?

With 18 years of experience facilitating personal transformation, my background encompasses yoga, breathwork, meditation, addiction recovery, tantra, shamanism, and depth psychology. My approach is embodied, practical, mystical, and truly life-changing. I empower women to integrate their body, heart, mind, emotions, energy, and spirit, recognizing that alignment of all these aspects is essential for manifesting the life of their dreams.

I am known for helping women get out of their heads, out of masculine over-drive, into our luscious feminine bodies and back in touch with our sensuality, our pleasure and our creative feminine life force.

I am most proud of the annual WildWoman Experience, a 4-day women’s retreat in the majestic Blue Ridge mountains of Western North Carolina. Together we dance, sing, pray, laugh, transform, get raw and real, and celebrate one another, as we shed the layers that keep us disconnected from our true souls and reconnect with the Wild Sensual Essence within. Most of our women return year after year, bringing their best friends, their sisters, their mother, and their grown daughters (18+)

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born into a professional theatre family. A shy, serious kid, my parents put me on the stage and in commercials at very young age. I spent more of my early life at the theatre than at school. Growing up immersed in a world fueled by creative imagination, discipline, long hours, and countless parties was incredibly enriching and undeniably wild.

Theatre illuminates the complexities of human struggles with love and power, showcasing the beautiful devotion of the human spirit to create in the face of adversity. My background in theatre gave me a profound understanding of the human psyche and spirit, and taught me to use my body, breath, voice and spirit to conjure magic. This foundation continues to inform the work I do today.
