Meet Lashay Mitchell of More Lashay’s

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashay Mitchell

Hi Lashay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A Fashion Maven, Woman of Class and A Crohn’s Warrior”

The world maneuvers so differently than when I was a child. Advanced technology, robotics in healthcare and the power of social media.
Different is a good way of embracing change.
Change means growth.
As a blooming entrepreneur from Kansas City, Missouri I like to believe More Lashay’s is becoming a household name.

The change I was speaking on earlier, were apart of it and it feels fantastic.

In 2017 Physicians were proclaiming I would not live to see current days like this.
Even with all the needles, tubing, ICU stays and having 18 major surgeries I still thought about my purpose and what was it God wanted me to do.

Out of the 43 days I spent in the hospital, one day I felt this, this “when” and my it slowly blossomed into my “why”.

Feeling beautiful again was at the top of my list. Not only on the outside but feeling so beautiful that it oozes from within and hopefully inspires the next being to feel beautiful too. I knew I wanted to empower those around me significantly as an ode to the days where I felt powerless.

With continuous healing, it surely took me sometime to build a solid foundation in the fashion world.
Design classes, shadowing different fashion companies and attending rehearsals assited me with remaining focused to my vision.

Recovery continues now. And that is not limited to fashion. Recovery is universal.
One of my mottos is, “No matter how bad I feel I will get up move and groove something.”
And that’s exactly what I did.

Feats and Fashion shows I am incredibly proud to have been apart of includes:
• Entrepreneur Mindset for Designers.
• Curves & Confidence Fashion Show
• Kansas City Fashion Week
• (Spring & Fall Showings) ModelingwithmeBM” (Brooke Madge)
• Heartland International Fashion Week
• Texas Fashion Week and
• The iconic New York Fashion Week.

Having a business that I built from the ground up during one of the most challenging times in my life made me realize this is my passion and it’s indeed deeper than fashion. My ability to be as fashionably creative as I possibly can, push through goals and still be a Crohn’s Warrior is a luxury I humbly appreciate.
After all those trials, I’m grateful. I pushed, persevered and prayed. ALOT!
More Lashay’s is more than just me. I have some AMAZING people in my corner. They each embody essential roles and I’m truly truly thankful for them.
I’m thankful for YOU reading this as well. I do hope it resonates and fuels your passion in life!

Stay tuned for additional waves of good health and grand fashion from More Lashays.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Darling, no. But that is what makes my story so unique. Being an entrepreneur crohns warrior in the fashion industry is ALOT. Rewarding but a lot. Between health, business goals, and trying to stay the course. The road won’t come smooth. But it will be worth it.
