Meet Joy Snyder of Inner Matrix Systems

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Snyder.

Hi Joy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Gosh, I’m 61…this could be long. I was a trial lawyer for a brief stint and then a corporate attorney in what seems like another lifetime ago. I was married for 26 years and raised two kids who are now amazing adults. I actually chose to homeschool them for a while (even though there was no pandemic.) I adored being a mom. I was an avid social entrepreneur for a while and served on several boards. I lived what on the outside surely seemed like the American dream–long-term marriage, inspiring careers and activities (mostly), beautiful home on a lake, world travel, etc., when I found myself divorced and starting over at age 55. What I woke up to in that moment was that despite appearances, despair had been my constant companion for quite a while. I knew if I didn’t take action, I would end up a statistic–one of those people who isn’t around anymore and no one saw it coming.

That is when life’s little happenstances or “coincidences” knocked on my door. I had been in physical therapy on and off for quite a while for a torn disc and wasn’t recovering well. There were days I couldn’t even get out of bed. My PT told me there wasn’t really anything else he knew to do for me and referred me to someone who had helped other people like me. It was the second time I heard this referral’s name. So, I went. This was the beginning of a whole new life journey.

It was through that referral that I was introduced to what is now called Inner Matrix Systems. I learned tools and techniques that taught me how to manage my emotions, develop new thought strategies and calm my ramped-up nervous system. As a result, I was able to create a whole new existence–one filled with empowerment, purpose, and meaning. I love my life! And I loved what happened for me through IMS so much that I decided I wanted to be a trainer with the organization and share this path with others so they too can live rich, fulfilling lives.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In short, no. Is it ever?? I hadn’t lived alone since I was in my 20’s. There were many times after my divorce when feelings of loneliness were overwhelming and debilitating. Plus, it took me 5 years to complete my training with IMS. I hadn’t engaged or committed to anything as intense since law school 30 years prior. I questioned my decision many times and had to learn to work through the doubt and insecurity I felt as I was engaging the training. It was a whole new type of endeavor for me–one that required me to do a lot of work on myself.

We’ve been impressed with Inner Matrix Systems, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a certified IM Trainer, I offer private training and group classes, using the proprietary IM Method and leveraging the IMS Power Series curriculum. At IMS we train high achievers inside the art and science of personal mastery. We define high achievers in 2 ways, a person who wants to better their life. And 2, they’re willing to take action toward it. And we do this by way of training inside of our proprietary system in three ways. Number one, we train, number two, we align, and number 3 we rewire the emotions, the thought strategies, and the nervous system, and that essentially makes up your inner matrix. Your inner matrix is your unique set of emotional and thought patterns that drive your actions. Those actions ultimately define every aspect of your life. We show you how to recognize the patterns living in your inner matrix that are creating the results you don’t want and how to evolve those patterns so you create the results that you do want in your life.

I think what sets us apart at IMS is the results we produce for people. Our training works across the board. I have personally seen this system work for people from ages 15-88. Moms, Dads, corporate executives, attorneys, and athletes, have all benefitted. Our clients run the gamut. The program is simple but impactful. And we have a wonderful community of people who support each other in this transformative work in KC. In addition, Joey Klein, the CEO, and founder of IMS does 4-weekend intensives here in KC each year.

*I am an independent licensee of Inner Matrix Systems (IMS).

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My Dad before he passed told me he believed I had found my calling, and said I would serve people in a much greater way than he had ever done as a pastor. Since he started out as a skeptic, I will never forget this conversation. I wish he could have seen me certify and start my business. My sister and kids were also very supportive, as were my closest friends.

Joey Klein, CEO, and founder of IMS was and is instrumental to my success as a person and in this business. He has been my personal mentor for several years now. I would not be who I am now without his support. I hope to someday have at least half of his capacity when it comes to serving others and transforming lives. That to me would be a life well-lived.

I am also forever grateful to my many mentors and friends in the IMS community. It’s a unique environment filled with people who really practice selflessness, authenticity, and care for one another.
