Meet Jesse Stoudt of 233 Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Stoudt.

Hi Jesse, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Oh boy, well it’s certainly been a long journey.

I’ve always loved cinema and anime. Growing up, I would jump at the chance to go to the theaters. Any time a new release came out, I was there! Every Saturday morning I had all my food lined up, ready for the new episode of Naruto.

Back in 2016, I never thought I would be in this industry. I was focused on my college education. Doom scrolling through Facebook one day, I came across a post from a director.

He was looking for extras who play basketball. I thought to myself, “I love basketball, why not give it a shot?” So I did just that. I showed up to set that morning and a whole new world of opportunities I didn’t realize existed opened up. If you’re an upcoming member is this industry I highly recommend networking, it’ll open up opportunities later down the road.

After we’ll over four years in the industry, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to open up my own production company and animation studio. I decided to move to Kansas City because of its inviting art district and art community. Since then, I’ve focused my efforts on creating short-form content, and feature-length animation.

Sometime in the future, I’m hoping to create art that blends the audience’s experience in a way that only both video games and cinema do.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, life’s full of struggles. Rejection comes to mind the most. If you’re an aspiring member of this industry, you will face a lot of rejection. I mean a lot. I think I’ll submit 50 gigs at a single time and maybe hear back from one. It’s a harsh feeling.

That’s why we leave our egos at the door. Also, you’ll be making pennies on the dollar once you first start off. So plan smart. I was a college kid making a couple hundred a month, oh boy. I definitely got comfortable living out of my car for months at a time.

It was fun though, I enjoy camping. Sleepless nights in Walmart parking lots were a bit rough. All of these things made me see the world in a better light, so I’m thankful for my struggles.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about 233 Productions LLC?
My growing brand can be found at 233studios.com.

We specialize in short-form content and animation. I create the stories, and my team brings them to life with their artistic, and technical skills. I think what sets my company apart from others is our business mission.

We’re more of a collective group of artists across the globe creating art and telling stories. Eventually, I hope to create a large enough studio that will offer more than just a job to my employees but a place to find artistic freedom and comfort.

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m an extremely competitive gamer.
