Meet Jennifer Williamson of Williamson & Associates, Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Williamson.

Jennifer Williamson

Hi Jennifer, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my agency in 1999 with a simple goal: to protect families like mine. What began as a one-woman operation — with no clients, no team, and just a desk, a phone, and a lot of determination — has grown into a top-performing agency built completely from the ground up on relationships, integrity, and community. My husband, Andrew, joined the agency 19 years ago, and together we’ve built an incredible team— serving thousands of clients across the Kansas City metro area.

I’m proud to be the first female in Kansas to earn a Championship Ring, a top life insurance sales honor, and the first female Hall of Fame agent in Kansas, a recognition earned through nomination rather than production. But the true reward is the trust our clients place in us and the peace of mind we help provide every day.

At Williamson & Associates, we believe insurance doesn’t have to be intimidating — it can be personal, empowering, and even fun. Our French Bulldog, Doug the Insurance Dog, helps remind us of that every day! He’s become part of our brand and a symbol of what we stand for: protection with personality, service with a smile, and heart behind every policy.

As lifelong members of the Kansas City community, Andrew and I are passionate about giving back — supporting local schools, youth programs, and small businesses that make our area special. We’re active members of the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce and Shawnee Rotary Club, and I’m honored to be joining the Board of Directors for the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce. After more than 25 years, I’m as energized as ever to keep growing, leading, and showing that kindness, hard work, and a little humor can make all the difference.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the most defining parts of my personal journey has been our family’s experience with addiction and recovery. Our oldest son struggled with addiction at the age of 15 and is now approaching three years of sobriety. Walking that road as a parent changed me in every way — it deepened my empathy, strengthened my faith, and reshaped how I lead both at home and in business.

Through that experience, my husband and I became involved in Full; Circle, a teen sobriety group, where we now help lead the parent support meetings. We also found renewed purpose in our faith and now attend church every Sunday as a family. This chapter of our lives reminded me that true success isn’t just about business growth or awards — it’s about resilience, grace, and the courage to keep showing up for the people who need you.

We’ve been impressed with Williamson & Associates, Inc, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Williamson & Associates, we protect what matters most — families, homes, businesses, and dreams. As an American Family Insurance agency, we provide auto, home, life, and business insurance, but my personal passion lies in life insurance — helping families secure their financial future and build lasting peace of mind.

In addition to serving clients, I focus heavily on building and leading our team, creating an environment that’s both efficient and service-driven. I’m passionate about systems, processes, and accountability, and I love finding ways to make our operations run smoother so our team can spend more time doing what matters most — taking care of people.

Our culture blends professionalism with heart (and a little humor, thanks to our French bulldog, Doug the Insurance Dog). We take pride in combining professionalism with personal connection — delivering exceptional service with genuine care behind every interaction.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people are surprised to learn that I put up 14 full-sized, fully decorated Christmas trees every year — each with its own theme! It brings me and my family joy and everyone around us during the holidays.

On the flip side, I’m also incredibly process- and efficiency-driven. I love building systems that simplify chaos, and I’m a bit of a Monday.com expert, known for creating custom boards and automations that keep everything running smoothly — both in business and in life.
